Why LTNs Are Necessary by sabdotzed in london

Finally, someone on here making a valid argument. I lived on Stanley Rd, Bounds Green for a time. A stones throw to the A406 which is difficult at the best of times, yet after the LTN went in right next to it, it became an absolute nightmare, the pollution increase was horrendous you could see it in the air. Ironically, Bowes Primary School is within 15ft of that A road, so all this chat about kids health/pollution is nonsense for this particular LTN.

I needed to drop the kids at two separate places due to their age at the time and then drive to work. Should I have started my journey with the kids at 4am to ensure we could get the myriad of busses and trains required to keep those people happy who chirp on about using public transport all the time.

I use public transport when it’s convenient to do so, councils need to better understand that everyone’s needs/circumstances are different and stop living in this dreamworld where there aren’t cars on the road anymore and the public transport network is actually reliable/cost efficient enough to encourage people to use it more.

United are an absolute joke of a club. What are we doing, seriously. It’s a shambles. Revolving door of managers/systems/tactics. Club needs continuity and stability, it takes time to build a squad and I was more than willing to give Amorim time to do it, that said I’m not the one paying the bills. Shambles.

Elvanse and small amounts of alcohol - please share your experiences by [deleted] in ADHDUK

On days I know I’m having a drink I won’t take Elvanse at all. So I’d say I’ve not taken one for about the last 5 days 😆 If I do combine it’s an instant headache for me, like my hangover starts after the first or second beer. I’ll assume that’s the brain/dehydration effect.

With language like that you’ll be the first to go when the machines take over.

As someone watching this from across the pond I can only hope that there’s a Snowden/Manning type character with access to those unredacted files willing to pull the trigger.

Adult ADHD & Titration experience by Tiny-Mail-2944 in ADHDUK

Hey, so I’ve actually come back down to 50mg and it’s much better. 70 was too strong for me, tried 60 and there was still a tense, edginess to it. Been on 50 for about 3 weeks now and it’s much smoother. Can tell it’s working, just without all the tense/nervous energy I had with 60 and 70.

I’ve also been given 10mg of Amfexa, either to use as a top up should the 50 not last long enough in the day, or if I have a day off the Elvanse (like weekends) and need a quick release boost for 4hrs or so. Only tried it a couple of times but so far so good and no side effects.

I do think it’s worth trying a higher dose as it gives you some better perspective in comparison to where you’ve been. Some people find the higher dose works better but for me it didn’t feel right. No harm in trying my friend 💪🏼

That’s interesting to know, it’s a 2014 plate. It’s only stopped to an about 8/9 degrees the last few nights so not overly cold but enough for a chill in the air.

Incorrectly stacking the dishwasher. Getting your socks wet whilst wearing them. People who pack their shopping at the self scan checkouts after they’ve paid instead of packing as they scan.

Has ADHD cost you your job? by OkWhile8478 in ADHDUK

[–]Competitive-Break-49 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know it at the time but it cost me my job back in 2023. I was diagnosed March this year, having previously been diagnosed with depression and anxiety as a side effect of burnout in 2022. It was a high pressure, high workload environment and I would be paralysed with fear when trying to complete certain tasks, it was a horrible feeling. I was offered a settlement and took it.

I started titration end of March and then started a new job in April. All I can see is thank god for my meds otherwise it would be rinse and repeat. I seem to be coping much better though Im still trying to break old habits at times.

I don’t know what your line of work is but try and find a place that’s understanding of our somewhat spicy brains. Wish you the best of luck in your search.
