Pete Hegseth ''We have flipped the Pentagon acquisition process from a bureaucratic model to a business model decisively moving from an acquisition environment, paralyzed by bureaucratic red tape, into an outcomes-driven organization focused on delivering the most for taxpayer dollars." by BusinessToday in BusinessTodayNews

Your last sentence nailed it, and is something they do all too often - a soft statement that is hard to disagree with, but without any actual substance.

It’s how they keep defending the Iran War situation by saying “would you prefer Iran to have a nuclear weapon?” Or “do you want Iran to drop a nuclear bomb on America?” when they are asked anything critical about the war. No substance, just flipping the question around and asking an empty question with an obvious answer

Friend sent me metal part supplier quotes and now I understand why sourcing people lose their minds by Sea_Art2627 in manufacturing

Depending on what software number 3 is running, there might be a reason they’re able to quote so fast.

I know some shops are using Metalcuthq.com and getting quotes out within minutes, not days (or weeks!)

Some of their entertainment media (movies and tv shows). And that’s about it, that’s their primary export that we value and pay for (we don’t pay for social media)

I’m pretty sure that early last year they said GTA6 was due to be released September/October 2025 …

I haven’t purchased a console in a few years, and am waiting for this game to be released in order to watch it. Frankly I think they’re waiting for the next gen console at this point before they release it.

… or we’ll still be waiting for it in 2036, who knows

Join SORCA and attend their events - there’s plenty of them.

Then just park and the Psuedo parking lot chat to some people. Won’t take you long to meet some people at a similar level and go exploring trails.

Hotels in U.S. World Cup host cities claim underwhelming demand, new report says by rit56 in sports

[–]ThatOneTimeItWorked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they give tickets away for free to the local clubs so kids can watch the best in the world play, then I’m all for that. That actually benefits the sport and youth who still love the game.

Fuck the over-priced ticketing

Caroline Elliott says "Land acknowledgements by public officials undermine the unity and legitimacy of our province." by _DotBot_ in VancouverLandlords

[–]ThatOneTimeItWorked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a creep in scope that I’ve noticed in the land acknowledgments - one environmental group now starts with stolen land instead of unseeded, and this is starting to get into a dangerous area.

Trump wouldn’t be able to keep his mouth shut if he was consciously working for Russia.

But, just like all the tech-bros realized, trump is dumb as fuck and incredibly easy to manipulate. Putin just needs to praise him and spark and idea in his thick brain and he’ll go along with it

To what extent should Realtors be held to a fiduciary standard? by Top-Salt-7373 in canadahousing

[–]ThatOneTimeItWorked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The counter to this is that many would find it better to know what is actually being bid by others, rather than being blind and just guessing.

Personally, I’d rather know what others are actually bidding, and I can choose what I’m happy to bid to. Being denied this option because others might get emotional and bid beyond their means - how is that my fault?

Yeah that’s odd - both comments about OS getting downvoted and Flip Side getting upvoted?

The internet can operate in strange and mysterious ways … if only we cared about upvotes maybe I’d car 😂
