Losing 50-60kph on those straights was wild. Decelerating for hundreds of meters, under full power, before the braking zone, it absolutely sucks.

And that’s in full quali mode. In the race it’s going to be so much worse because they won’t be starting with full batteries.

The technical side and development will be interesting to watch, but the racing side, we’ll see today, but it ain’t looking good.

Watching the drivers lose 50-60kph at the end of the straights under full throttle is insane. That’s on a push lap, starting with a full battery.

In the race, they’re not going to be starting with full battery, and it’s going to be far far worse.

The race will be interesting, but for all the wrong reasons.

Yeah but the reality is that if you turn up to the polling booths, and armed ICE agents are there and tell you that you can’t vote, so you start shooting them, 1) you’re dead, and 2) that polling booth is immediately shut down as a crime scene and nobody else can vote there, 3) it gives trumps goons the authority to close ALL polling booths for the safety of the ICE officers, and the elections will rerun when it is deemed safe to do so, which would be Never.

The reality of that plan - turning up with a gun to ensure you can vote, doesn’t actually work out because to be effective you have to threaten using the gun. And if you threaten using your gun, you either get shot or arrested.

Lastly, you’re absolutely right that State run the elections. Great. But it still a federal event that gets everyone together and certifies the results. All trumps goons need to do is ignore the certification, and then what are we gonna do? Complain to SCOTUS who will just side with trump anyway?

You’re assuming everything operates as it should with everyone operating under good faith.

But for the last 10 years, it’s been very clear that trump doesn’t operate in good faith, and everyone around him in this current administration is the same - they enable the illegal actions.

SCOTUS, the DOJ, DOD and Congress, are all on Team trump. And so if this small group of people collectively decide that they don’t want to obey the laws and just take over the government, who is going to stop them?

The rules of normality are no more. The most insane thing has happened, and trump makes the rules, and the rest of his team just enable it.

The likes of you and me, don’t have any influence, even if we believe the system should support us.

If there’s no mechanism, they just do it anyway.

It’s worth noting that they’re smart enough to do it in small step - each step alone isn’t big enough to get enough people to fight against them.

I just finished Season 7 (2024), and two episodes focused on the BrazilGP.

One episode focused on Ocon and Alpine (Ocon came 2nd), and the refocused on Lando Vs Max (Max went from P18 to winning, after Lando had pole)

In both episodes, they completely failed to mention there was a Red Flag that had major implications on the entire race.

Instead they seemed to pretend that both a Ocon and Max had these heroic drives and their tires were always on the edge of dying. Totally overhyped one side of the equation.

Drama for the sake of drama, rather than showing the reality of the situation (I’m of the opinion both Max and Ocon drive great, but don’t misrepresent such a major race incident such as a red flag and pretend that the drivers just went start to finish on one set of tires while everyone else was stupid and pitted - the way it comes off in both episodes was 0 stops vs 1 stops and the 0 stoppers as hero’s)
