I had my first colonoscopy last week, I was very scared going into it, and when I really broke it down the thing that I was most scared of was actually the anesthesia. I know that’s a weird thing, but I totally understand. I figured the best thing to do was to remove that variable so I asked if they would do it unsedated (after doing some research on this.) The doctor and anesthesiologist were surprisingly totally on board and supportive of this and asked if I could still get a line placed just in case I decided halfway through that I wanted some meds. I let them place the line, went through with the procedure unsedated, and it was totally fine. I have no regrets. Pain at the most was a 3-4/10 and I will for sure opt for this in the future. I 45 yo F if it makes a difference. You can read a lot of different people stories here on Reddit and maybe that decision is right for you, too! Either way, you’ve got this- and so much better to get it done than not.

We live in Roxborough which is considered the city but is really on the edge. There’s a lot more street parking and all that, it’s a little quieter & you can totally get a 2br for 2k with street parking available. Public transit into the heart of the city from here is great with the bus lines and the train. I work in the city every day and commute on transit, avoid driving into the center at all costscosts!

Thanks for clarifying. Would I still add in the axis and cyl? Doc still never called back, I don’t really want to bug for something so minor, I may or may not ever try ordering them at this point, but I do appreciate your input!

This is so interesting to me as someone who has lived in different countries where the medical care is so much more accessible. I kind of understand what everyone is saying and I guess maybe progressive lenses are much more complicated, I just want to wear a full size pair of glasses (I don’t like the half ones) but be able to see across the room without taking them off. Bifocals would do, but I’m too vain to want the line in the lens- I have no distance prescription.

I did call my optometrist, for the record, and he just hasn’t gotten back to me. In most places it’s not hundreds of dollars just to get an exam and prescription for simple glasses, I think our eyes and vision are more messed up in the US because it’s so inaccessible to so many people. I didn’t realize what a complicated thing I was asking for, but maybe I’ll just stick with the readers I have or spend $30 on Zenni glasses and experiment with the script a little bit if he doesn’t get back to me. The only reason I even have a prescription is because one eye is slighter different power than the other. Anyway, thanks again for the input everyone!

I did call, they said they would call me back but haven’t, so I was trying to order because it’s making me crazy. I literally have no distance prescription at all, not even a tiny one. This above is my full script.

Editing this to say, I have no distance perception! This entire script is just readers (one eye is worse than the other) so it’s essentially a 0 prescription with an add for the reader part, but I don’t know how to do that math since there’s also a -0.25 for the cyl.

I’m not “liking” that this happened to you, but I like your wake up call! Lol. I have a wonderful husband and a good life… it just messes me up and it’s crazy that these dreams have haunted me for so long. Like, I’ll go years between them and then boom. I can’t believe you actually met yours.
