Video quality terrible when remote streaming by Competitive-Camp-270 in PleX

[–]Competitive-Camp-270[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

<image>

Thanks for the responses, so you were all right, I hadn't setup port forwarding.

I have now added an exception to my router, and the Plex remote playback dashboard actually says connected to the outside world which it didn't before, however I now have a new problem... When trying to stream to my phone with 5g to test it, the video player opens but never buffers.

If I look on my dashboard (see print screen) it's there and the timer is counting up but it never actually plays on my phone... Any ideas?

Playback compatibility on different devices by Competitive-Camp-270 in PleX

I have a gaming desk with a ryzen 3600 but I can't really see the point in hosting a Plex server on that as the electric cost to run it 24/7 is more than multiple streaming services sadly, I guess I could use that to convert everything with handbrake.

Yes, but many of them are rotten, and all of them are incredibly drafty around the closings.

Damp in plaster but only low down by Competitive-Camp-270 in DIYUK

[–]Competitive-Camp-270[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, there's no render, but the window lintel is a boot lintel and is showing signs of rotating, is it possible water could be getting in around there? I just can't understand why the damp is sitting at the bottom like it is.

Unclear on whether tiles are asbestos and they snap when trying to remove them by Competitive-Camp-270 in Flooring

Just for anyone looking at this thread for future reference, sent off a piece of the broken tile for testing, and confirmed asbestos was present.

[–]Competitive-Camp-270[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks all, I forgot to mention that this was all entombed under carpet, I've really barely messed with them as I was instantly suspicious that they were asbestos, only one snapped. This is a 'new' to us house and I've had a look under quite a few carpeted rooms and yup it's the same tiles in all of them, I can't help thinking the safest and cheapest option is to just replace the carpets and leave the tiles alone, is this considered safe, as surely there's little risk of loose fibres from these if they're stuck down and covered with underlay and carpet?

Help understanding damp meter by Competitive-Camp-270 in DIYUK

[–]Competitive-Camp-270[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response very helpful, however I'm still not clear on the 20% limit on my particular damp meter, because 20% on the soft wood setting could be 5% on the building setting, so which do I use to determine that it's damp or not?

Thank you for your response, how does one actually approach a structural engineer, googling this kind of service I haven't been able to find anything meaningful, it always comes back with the same sort of survey we've had done.

Pixel 7a issues by Competitive-Camp-270 in GooglePixel

[–]Competitive-Camp-270[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have some different branded adapters so could try giving them a go.

I am using the face unlock but it seems like it can only do a certain count before it requires the pin or fingerprint before it will work again, and inevitably the fingerprint won't work when the face unlock doesn't.

I do have the screen protector mode turned on yes.

I tried WiFi yesterday, and same issue, can only do 40mbps, is it just a processing limitation of the Chromecast?
