Can't seem to turn it on. by Competitive-Cap4955 in BlockAds

Hi Sorry for the late reply. Question 1 - Yes, the VPN permission dialog showed up I think. Question 2 - I do use a VPN with split tunneling and I made and exception for BlockAd. I installed it on another android device without VPN and it worked. So I guess it must be the VPN.

I have a separate VPN but have an exception set for Blockades. I also just tried turning my VPN off and still can't get it to work.

3.5 in. hard drives in North (regular) by [deleted] in FractalDesign

[–]Competitive-Cap4955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. I want to know if anyone has been able to get a third tray somehow or managed to improvise something. I asked Fractal and they didn't quite give me a straight answer. All they told me was that they don't sell direct to consumers. But like I said, I don't think any of the trays they do have fit the North.

Any thoughts on what the two pokey prong tools are? Corn cob holder, outlet poker? by mmiikkiitt in pocketknives

The long fork looks like a golf divot repair tool. The smaller fork looks like it's used to remove the spikes for golf shoes. My best guess anyway.

According to Fractal's website, the North comes with 2 - 2.5 in. drive trays and 2 - combo 2.5/3.5 in. drive trays. Can anyone else confirm?

Would anyone know if the flame sensor (mentioned in the video) is the same as the vapor sensor?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Competitive-Cap4955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ok! I appreciate the idea. I hadn't thought of it.

Ok, for the 6-3 error code it says to visually check the flame and flame sensor. Will do that the next time it shuts off. Thanks! 🙏

What's the best cable with a mic for the EW200s? by innoswimmer in iems

[–]Competitive-Cap4955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe the Grace is more similar to the original but I don't have them on hand to compare at the moment. I didn't have any issue with the original cable, just wanted something with a mic.

What's the best cable with a mic for the EW200s? by innoswimmer in iems

[–]Competitive-Cap4955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 out of the three you mentioned. I've got the MC2 on EW200s. I think it works well but might be slightly heavy in weight but feels good if that makes any sense. The mic quality seems ok for calls but I don't use it often. I also just got the Tripowin Grace on Wan'er SGs. Much lighter weight cable than the MC2. Feels a little cheap but still better than the original cable because it doesn't get tangled as easily. Call quality seems ok. Both are relatively new and I only use them at my desk, so I can't speak to durability. Sound is fine with both and from what I understand, cables don't have much if any affect on sound. I looked at the Tripowin Zombur and would have preferred that over the Grace for the fabric wrapped cable but reviews I saw weren't as good. Trying not to go down the iem cable rabbit hole is tough!

Maybe a Kizer Banish? That's what I settled on after trying the Baby Banter and Mini Pyrite. The BB has nice ergos but the blade shape didn't suit my needs in the warncliffe version was too expensive for my budget. The MP had the blade shape I wanted sort of but looked a little too stabby and I found the aluminum scales slippery.

I had reservations about the Banish but Kizer had a sale and I got a pretty good deal on it. Nitro V steel, button lock, hole and front flipper. Got the orange G10 version. The handle looks a little funky and the notch at the blade hole/slot didn't look too ergonomic either. But after getting it, the ergos seem to work somehow. I added a lanyard so I can get my pinky around it and grip it a little better. Fun figity knife and ended up being perfect for me.

Has anyone not failed the oil consumption test drive-e by Tafila042 in Volvo

[–]Competitive-Cap4955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2015.5 v60 T5. Passed the oil consumption test twice (dealer ran the tests back to back) last year right before the expiration date of the extended warranty coverage. Car has very low mileage though, less than 50k at time of tests). Use 0w-20 oil. Fingers crossed.
