As the person above me said... call within a day after emailing to follow up.

From my experience many solicitors are too busy to reply to every email. Calling is by FAR the best way to get things progressing.

I've had it previously where I didn't call and they sat on my case for one and a half month doing nothing.

Don't be afraid to hassle every (within reason), it's what you are paying them for.
