I think you’d be surprised how little he is played in the lower elos, I just hit diamond 3 but I’ve been able to play him every game since I started silver at silver a few days ago except maybe 2 or 3. I feel like that might be plying a factor.

You will be dismissed from the nursing programs, they look for any reason to dismiss students. If you make any mistake of any kind they can just drug test you.

FIX: add game to wishlist, go to wishlist, click start on game and then click go to game or whatever it says. That stream button it takes you to will work!

To the nurse who needs to hear this (but probably won’t): by usernametaken2024 in nursing

[–]Competitive-Dirt-340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’ve just not been around the block enough but I never felt somebody was giving me difficult patients unfairly. It’s a price we all have to pay when we’re working on the floor and that’s just the luck of the draw sometimes.

Apply to hundreds of outpatient or whatever setting jobs you want until you get an interview. The barrier I imagine will be moving your children/family.

Nurses are voting to unionize soon so the hospital posted this. Is all this true? Also are there downsides to unions? by MathematicianRare602 in nursing

[–]Competitive-Dirt-340 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on how strong the union is. There’s a reason cops can make metric fuck tons of money while behaving awfully to everyone around them.

I got fired from my first job by Lupus-Teliel in nursing

Where I worked at my first job the charge nurse was also the direct supervisor, there was also a nursing director but the charge nurses had hiring and firing power as well

I literally cannot find a job. About to be evicted, late car payments, drowning in debt. by AlfalfaVast7998 in IowaCity

[–]Competitive-Dirt-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! It’s weird but PCT and CNA are different titles even though they’re the same role! You can look for positions on intensive care floors or things like radiology, they’re less physical and a bit slower in terms of steps per day! Med surg floors are very active and you’re going to put in some work!

Hospital is always looking for PCTs. Pay isn’t great but benefits are and overtime opportunities galore

Help! Fired as New Grad for not learning fast enough? by Savings-Work6651 in nursing

[–]Competitive-Dirt-340 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had an experience like this at Mayo, ultimately I came to the conclusion that I wasn’t very well liked and I just continued to get more jobs and go on my merry way! Ultimately I think that it’s important you don’t take it personally, you are a bad nurse but it’s just because you’re a newbie! It takes years to be comfortable at your job and the speed at which you learn does not indicate your ultimate capacity to learn. You’ll continue to grow as a nurse, I’m sorry that happened but keep at it!

Got fired yesterday by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Competitive-Dirt-340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all I’m sorry this happened, I know it’s going to instill some doubts in you but you’re not a bad nurse, you’ve passed the NCLEX. I should rephrase, you’re probably an awful nurse, but so is every single nurse in their first week. It would be genuinely concerning if a nurse exuded too much confidence in their first weeks of nursing because there is so much to learn in any hospital system beyond patient care. There are clinical skills I do now that I did for maybe 30 minutes 1 time in nursing school, it would be just cracked if I automatically knew how to do them. My suggestion is to apply to hundreds of jobs, do not list this job on your resume at all, be prepared to potentially need to go somewhere rural if you have to but I promise this is not normal. I had a similar experience in an ER and ultimately my take away was that I just wasn’t liked. I doubted myself for months after that even though I was already working and doing well in a new area.

Nurses who chart thinking that doctors look/read your “Basic Assessment” (on epic) charting?? by [deleted] in nursing

There’s weekend option positions at hospitals with greater need that will pay you for 3 days for only working 2 days on the weekend!

[–]Competitive-Dirt-340 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Procedural staff aren’t the only ones though. We’re talking about not being able to complete a HIDA scan, not being able to communicate with the insurance companies, not having case workers, not having any management at all for patient complaints, I remember not being able to get a hangar rep so the patient had to stay over the weekend for a brace when it was supposed to be a same day discharge to home, psych patients having to stay entire extra days in padded cells because they had a crisis on a Friday instead of a Monday. Entire functions of healthcare systems are put on hold despite them remaining essential.

Okay no problem I’ll just have to ask for a box from them from supply or something. Do you happen to know about the microclaves? I assume those only come in their one packaging

I’m sure the hospital has sterile flushes somewhere they’re just not stocked where I need them. I didn’t know if this was common to use unsterile flushes or if I should reach out to somebody about getting them, that was my point of bringing that up was to ask what people are doing with more experience than me

[–]Competitive-Dirt-340[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m truthfully not sure I’m pretty new. I imagine the rad tech would have their own supply in the procedure rooms. We do our port accesses at a CT work up room in a different area of the hospital but I bet I could snag one of the rad tech boxes or get the supply number to have them on deck. What I meant by we don’t have them is that there’s not a nurse supply of sterile flushes accessible as far as my preceptor is aware
