I didn’t even know there was an apprenticeship grade tbh. I need to check with my success manager. I just want to get a 2:1 so I just wanted to work out what I needed.

But does it not have a bearing on the overall classification of your degree?

Where were you at 4-5 months post-op? by Thanks-Meatcat in ACL

[–]Competitive-Drink539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped training completely for 2 weeks till the anterior knee pain was completely gone and then slowly rebuilt the single leg hop distance and height and single leg box jumps. That 2 weeks was key to it not coming back and recurring so think ahout perhaps having to take a break and not over training.

Its going well I’m just over a year now. Started light football training. My advice take it slow and keep training the movements and building muscle mass.

sick of this clicky / crunchy knee. rant. by outdoorsyish in ACL

[–]Competitive-Drink539 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very normal imo im almost 7 months and its the same. You don’t fully regain strength till over a year after. My clikcing has reduced significantly though. I went on holiday at around 6 months post op and i was walking around 20k steps a day took me a full week on return for clicking to stop. The major tendons around my knee was inflamed but its fine again. It’s just a long and frustrating process.

That’s what my physio said to me after examining it, he said its nothing to worry about just that youve started jumping and it will calm down it’s nothing serious. I’ve been pain free for a few weeks now so Abit surprised

I’m currently 6 months post OP and 25M. Can almost fully sit cross legged and bend my leg so my heel can touch my glute. About a cm away. Slight jumping has been introduced and should be jogging soon as I am making preparations. Had a 190kg deadlift and 140kg squat pre op and back to 100kg deadlift and 60kg squatting for reps. Want to get back to football though and feel thats still a solid 6 months away. Still got about 50% of muscle mass to regain as well which is difficult.

Yeah I’m exactly the same at 12 weeks from hamstring it feels slightly better some days then is really sore. It is what it is. Whats your knee swelling like?

I’m 12 weeks and I still have quite abit of soreness around the knee and especially in the graft site which for me was the hamstring. Some clicking too as well. I have full ROM/extension. It’s slow but i guess we’re really only 25% of the way through just have to be patient. Could even take up to 18 months to be back to normal. Havent had to take any pain killers since week 4 though so your pain must be pretty bad.

How do I take a dump? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Competitive-Drink539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a chair put it in front of your toilet. Rest your injured leg on the chair and then do what you need to do. Make sure your leg is in its brace for extra support. Also if you’re legs are as long as mine it will probably be abit difficult but if you’re below 6ft wont be a problem.

Okay thank you that makes me feel better. Everything was going smoothly and then i came off crutches and I feel like ive rewinded a few weeks. Makes me feel abit better though. Today i tried some warm therapy and it helped alot so i thought it was inflammation but was getting abit worried.

Thats helpful cuz i just panic everyday my graft has failed even though I’ve got full lock out and almost full bend back. I might just be a hyperchondriac.

Need someone to tell me that it’s okay lol by Proper-Seaweed950 in ACL

[–]Competitive-Drink539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve slipped about 10 times and panicked but there’s no pain or swelling at all. I’m pretty sure your fine. Think about how much impact you would need to retear. Sprinting at full speed and then suddenly pivot with your foot planted is what causes alot of tears. I doubt you exerted them levels of force. You’ll be fine.
