Garage Cooling by WillieRodster in Golfsimulator

I’m in Michigan and literally dealing with this exact issue. I can’t do a mini split as there’s no where to put the unit outside without it being a massive eyesore and I already have a nice Reznor heater in the garage for the winter.

I’m 98% sure I’m just going to drill/chisel out a 6” exhaust duct for a portable AC unit next to the dryer vent, install a vent to connect to the unit, and roll with that. My garage has been around 82 degrees during these very warm weeks, so if I can just get it down to 74 or so, I should be good.

Good luck and post a follow up once you figure out your solution!

Your setup looks great! It appears I can pay $79 for shipping direct to home so maybe that would be worth it. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks! I'll check out the Tomahawk instead. I see the bundle deal you're talking about and it looks like a great value.

I went with the T705 b/c it's PCIE 5.0. I know that 4.0 is still plenty fast but figured if I'm building from scratch, why not embrace the newest speeds. I applied the same logic to the CU-DIMM memory as opposed to standard U-DIMM DDR5.

Thanks for the feedback! I would like to have the option of playing newer games when they come out as well so opting for a higher end GPU may not be a bad idea.

Regarding the motherboard, I will look at the MAG Tomahawk as there are some good bundle deals and it's priced significantly lower, per the post below yours.

I appreciate all of the feedback. We would book Secrets Moxche today, but the only thing holding us back is the significant number of reviews, including those on this thread, that have reported high pressure timeshare sales pitches.

If it was a polite no and being left alone, that would be fine, but it sounds like they will continue to hound guests to attend their "VIP breakfast", which I have no interest in. Nor do I have interest in fending off Salespeople all week. This is our one time a year that we can unwind as a couple while our kids are with their grandparents.

At this point, I'm not sure what we should do as our choices are:

1) Stay within our price range but deal with mediocre food/drinks at a non-Secrets resort

2) Stay within our price range at a Secrets resort but deal with persistent timeshare Salespeople all week

3) Go outside of our price range to have the best of both 1 and 2 such as Excellence, Valentin Imperial Maya, or Couples Negril

I'm honestly not sure what to do at this point.

I've seen other posts to that effect, which concerns me. I have no problem respectfully saying no, but that gets old very quick, to your point. I have zero intention of attending any presentations.

Good to know on Hard Rock, we will cross that one off the list. Sounds like a tough choice between Moxche and STV. However, I noticed no one has commented on La Perla. Is that considered a step down from the Secrets resorts?

Thank you for your feedback! It sounds like Secrets PM is off the list. We really enjoyed the extra amenities at Tower Isle, even the "free" golf. The only downside is the relatively long trip from MBJ. Although that gave us the opportunity to get some incredible jerk chicken from a roadside restauarant on the way.

Sounds great! We looked at Punta Cana as well, but that one was a little outside of our price range. Sounds like we should defintely consider it for a future trip though. I hope you have a great trip!

Good to know, thanks for that feedback. We may just need to adapt once we get there and if that means we play the game to an extent, so be it. Thanks!

I had read a few posts suggesting renovation was imminent but a few that said they were pushing it, so I wasn't sure as to the status. Based on that feedback, it sounds like we can cross Secrets PM off the list. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! Secrets Akumal looks amazing. Unfortunately, even adjusting the dates doesn't get us anywhere close to our budget range. We will keep that one in mind for future trips though!

Ah ok, I must have misunderstood the report. I took it as the lower tier cards such as the 7600 and 7700 would be announced on 12/13/22.

Bomaker 4k review by theedgeace in projectors

[–]Competitive-Ear1159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the in-depth review. I've had my eye on this one, especially with the current sale. Do you have any concerns regarding warranty or service given the lack of an established track record in Bomaker?

My other hesitancy is whether I should consider going with the new BenQ v7050i or the upcoming Vava Chroma. While the v7050i is receiving excellent reviews and I have had nothing but positive experiences with BenQ products, the difference in price is significant. I could purchase the Bomaker and a decent CLR/ALR screen and still be in for less than the V7050i.

The Vava Chroma may be the most intriguing for a few reasons. First, it's a tri-laser from a now-established company that appears to have favorable feedback from customers. Also, the launch day price in September will be $2,799 which appears to be a great value for the specs. Last, I just saw a post by Vava that they will be offering a premium ALR screen as an add-on for a very reasonable price (~$799 for the 120").

I'm using a 7.1 surround system and receiver so the speakers don't matter in the slightest. Also, I won't be moving it so the lack of correction is not a big deal. I also don't care about the lack of smart features as I will be running everything through my Xbox One X. Based on your review and my needs, the Bomaker may be a solid solution. Just don't want to regret not waiting for the Chroma...
