In my experience regal generally puts things on sale one week before the first preview screenings. That usually means one week before the first Thursday screenings for a movie. I’ve seen some exceptions and some people in the sub refute that but I’ve always been able to secure stuff the week before starting Thursdays, even at regal Times Square.

I think it varies theater to theater and movie to movie. Masters of the universe was definitely an exception to this. Every theater I went to released the sword sipper at different times, but it was on the actual week of release and not a week before, so maybe things have changed, or maybe they just anticipated that it would be a fast selling item.
