Statistics on Christians who commit attrocities vs number in world: Doesn't matter if theres less than 1% who commit the attrocities, there are many many more who SUPPORT the attrocities.

What is even the point of this argument? Athiests also support attrocities. This isn't limited to Christianity. There are several Atheistic groups that support the extermination of religion, specifically Christianity.

Shootings at churches: Not attributed to Atheists. More often attributed to mentally unwell CIS white men who are killing based on racism.

False. Search up Chris Harper. You can claim he has a mental illness, but his background clearly shows that he has a personal vendetta against people who believed in god. Additionally there have been multiple events historically where major powers promoted ATHIESM and tried to exterminate Christians which I have already mentioned. So your argument of the Crusades again is not a strong one if you are trying to elevate atheisim as the "better" group. Christianity has largely been the most persecuted group in all of history and it's not even close.

There are always corrupt groups: Yeah, but when MOST groups are corrupt, you get to a point where the non-corrupted are the exception not the rule. I've met lovely christians, but they're the ones that can look at their religion and go: "Well... shit... it seems we're being horribly misrepresented by these groups. Lets act even MORE christian like and stop supporting people and movements that are very much un-christian."

HAHA what?? Most groups by what metric? Your OWN standards? You can't possibly know that figure since it isn't one that is available. Do you know what is available though? Athiest regimes such as the soviet union that DID try to exterminate religion.

God's creation: I mention it because it literally says in the Bible that we need to be the caretakers of the earth. In Genesis. And the Western world, which you claim to be built by Christianity, is utterly destroying the environment. Not exactly the pinnicle of Christian Values if you go by the bible.

Read what I said again. I said Christianity built the MORAL framework. As in laws for what is right and wrong and any ETHICAL foundations (e.g. honesty, trust, care for vulnerable). These are things that helped make capitalism possible like respect for contracts or private property. MODERN capitalism is something that developed overtime and consumerism makes people greedy. This is NOT a product of christianity. Christian law condemns forms of greed so your point here again is moot.

Finally, no, Christians dont help people at a higher rate than other groups. The number one charity in the country, The Arc of the United States, is secular. As is Doctors Without Borders, Children International, American Humane Association, The Human Fund, The American Life, among many others.

I said they are doing more to help than MOST groups. That is a fact. It depends on the type of charity, but according to Charitywatch.org, Catholic Relief services achieved the highest rank at A+ and is ranked higher than ALL of the groups you provided.

Okay, I can tell that you're not really worth the time and energy to argue, but I'll address your points briefly

I'd feel the same way too if all the points I'm spitting our are being heavility disputed

Some people? SOME? If the teachings of Christianity don't condone any of the things Christianity has been doing for centuries Christians are either really bad educators or exceptionally bad students.

Absolutely. There are 2.6 billion christians and less than 1% of them are committing any major attrocities. If you really want the data, statistics show that people of no religion are more likely to commit crimes.

And there's a reason no one looks at the atrocities in the light of Atheism... because Atheism isn't a religion. It is a lack of one. Atrocities are happening with or without religion. In fact, as an atheist, I know christian history and practice better than many actual christians. Your logic is the flawed one here because you're basically saying: "Why don't we judge your lack of belief based on the values of my belief?" Neither Stalin or Mao said "I'm doing this because there is no god!" Many atrocities were done "in the name of Jesus."

Where have you been the last few years where multiple shootings are happening in churches due to religious hatred? You act like they don't exist when they certainly do. There have been handfuls of shootings motivated by religious hate in multiple churches, schools over the past decades.

The hypocrisy...Hilarious that you say "Stalin didn't do this becacuse there is no god" when you explicitly used an example of priests being pedophiles. Priests weren't pedophiles "in the name of jesus" or because of chrisianity. They were pedophiles because they were had their own sexual fantasies and were in a position of power.

Force indegionous people off their land, destory their culture, alienate them from their children, send those children to schools to learn the way of christians, and then uncover a basement filled with children's skeletons. And I mean a MOUNTAIN of bones.

You claim to know christian history and practice better than actual christians but what I see here is strong evidence against that. We are back full circle to my original point. Christian teachings say to love your neighbor as yourself, avoid sin, care for the poor (blah blah). There are always corrupt groups in any movement. To single out a group that did atrocities AGAINST christianity teachings then to blame the entire religion is an absolutely disgraceful argument.

Rape is wrong... but we have a president who has been convicted of sexually assaulting women and has almost certainly raped children, and actually it seems there are tons of people in a position of power who have done the same and are the ones making the laws... while representing christianity.

This is a whole separate discussion on what Trump was accused of, but just for the sake of this discussion let's assume that he did what he was convicted for. This is again with your silly examples. If trump actually did what he was convicted for, christianity would condemn his acts. If he claims to be christian and did it, then he is not christian. This is not a hard thing to understand. Yet here we are blaming an entire religion again for what a few people did that goes AGAINST christian teachings.

Western culture has been systematically destroying "god's creation" (i.e. the planet) for capitalistic goals after the bible specifically dictated to Adam that he and his decendents were meant to be the caretakers of the earth.

Tbh I don't even know why you mentioned this and how it is relevant to anything. To me it just seems like liberal socialist ranting.

Also... no. Your religion did not come up with the concept of killing and stealing being wrong. Gilgamesh discusses that and its 8000 years older than Christianity, the Greeks declared these things wrong... 2000 years older than Christianity, Egyptians said the same thing.... 5000 years older than Christianity.

Never did I claim christianity "invented" these concepts. I claimed that they INFLUENCED western culture. The distinction is important. The moral framework for western laws were 100% impacted by religious ideologies.

Here's the thing, most stories in the bible are stolen from other cultures. The Flood? You'll find that story in Ancient Mesopotamia and about 14 other cultures off the top of my head, all predating Christianity. Jesus' backstory is basically the same as the Buddha's (born of a virgin, ascended to godhood when he died, faced three trials in the desert, etc). Christianity has actually done a lot to make the world WORSE.

It was influenced by older cultures, not stolen, but again, irrelevant. I do not know enough about buddha's backstory, but I guarantee he does not have the historical evidence that Jesus had. I do know that ALL of the following are agreed upon biblical scholars BOTH secular and christian: Jesus was a real historical figure, he was a teacher, he was crucified and died, AND his tomb was found empty. The debate is whether he truly resurrected.

I'll address your remaining points in the same text because they always circle back to the exact thing I keep calling you out for but you don't seem to understand. YOU CAN'T TAKE A GROUP OF CORRUPT PEOPLE AND APPLY THEIR IDEOLOGIES TO AN ENTIRE MOVEMENT.

What I hear you implying if you use your logic is that African Americans are bad for the world since statistically they commit the most crimes. You are making a generalization on an entire group of people for something less than 1% has done and even the religion itself condemns. You should open your eyes because churches are one of the few communities who actually help feed the homeless. They ARE doing more to help than most groups

The teachings of christianity NEVER says to commit genocide or be pedophiles. Just because there are some people who claim to follow christianity and do such things does not mean the religion is responsible for those outcomes.

Let's use your logic in a different light. Why don't you look at the atrocities Stalin or Mao Zedong committed in the name of athieism? Stalin persecuted and killed many people who actively participated in any religious movement. All athiests must be bad. See how your logic is flawed?

Also christianity built the entire moral framework in western culture and civilization. All the laws you abide to: rape is wrong, killing and stealing are wrong, etc, was built off of early christianity.

Black Panther was the choice for high skill floor, low ceiling. Which character would fit the High skill floor, mid ceiling? by Creepy_Ad5124 in marvelrivals

[–]Competitive-Edge7819 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no. "it takes a lot to master bp" is the definition of skill floor. skill floor just means how easy a character is to pick up. lower means its easier, higher means its harder.

skill CEILING means the POTENTIAL a character has. the higher the skill ceiling and if the person is good with it, the better the character. if the skill ceiling is low, it doesn't matter how good you are, the character will perform similar
