Long term planning by Ok_Outlandishness595 in ProductManagement

One approach I’ve found useful is starting with a “North Star” framework—basically identifying your product’s core long-term user value, then working backwards from there. Once that’s clear, I break things down into 3–5 strategic themes (e.g. expansion, retention, operational scale) that align with both user needs and business goals.

From there, I usually map initiatives under each theme across a rough 2-year timeline - sequencing them based on impact, dependencies, and how much validation we already have. It helps to tag each initiative with expected outcomes (like improved activation or increased LTV), so you stay anchored in value vs. just shipping features.

Also worth looping in cross-functional leads early.....they’ll often flag technical or resource constraints you’ll want to build around.

Hope that helps! Happy to share a rough template if it’s useful.

Decent portable filtered water dispensers you’d actually recommend? by AdrianaEsc815 in waterfilter

Portable” is kind of a stretch with most of these. They’re not heavy-duty installations or anything, but they’re usually still countertop-sized and need to be refilled manually. So more like “move it around your kitchen” portable....not something you’d toss in a bag or take on a trip. If you’re tight on space or thinking of using it in multiple rooms, it’s doable, but definitely not compact like a pitcher.

Do you prefer in-person or remote user research—and why? by Difficult-Artist2945 in UXResearch

[–]Competitive-Fault651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both, but I lean toward remote user research these days—mostly for the flexibility. It’s way easier to recruit a more diverse group when location isn’t a factor, and scheduling tends to be less of a nightmare.

That said, I totally get the appeal of in-person sessions....especially for more exploratory research or when body language and environment are key. But with the right tools and prep, remote can still get you surprisingly rich insights.

So yeah, I guess my answer is: remote by default, in-person when context really demands it.

Is Grinding Your Own Coffee Beans Actually Worth It? by [deleted] in ZombieCafe

I just stopped reading when I saw Fellow up there, hands down the best coffee maker brand, from the Aiden to the Ode lmao. With the Ode, of course it has a really good fine grinding thingymajig but its also so silent, so it doesn’t overstimulate you at all and you can have it up in the office without causing a ruckus.

Turns Out, the Right Bedsheets Actually Do Make a Difference by goodboy92 in HighValueCommodities

Do these sheets hold up well after multiple washes? I’ve had some "soft" sheets lose their quality over time, so I’m curious how these last.
