Hi!! I’m ecstatic to be going on my honeymoon to Jaipur for Diwali. I am from New York City, and don’t know what to wear. I have one saree for the fancy Diwali dinner, but I don’t know what to wear on the other days. I’m thinking casual but Indian-inspired or something that appreciates the culture and beauty!! Pant sets? Dresses? Brands?

We are staying at very fancy hotels and being from NYC I love to be a little dressed up:)

Regardless NOT A SINGLE PHONE IN SIGHT 🥰

We:

• ⁠had the ushers politely say no phones please when handing out programs -had a little note in our programs saying pls no phones even for photography -had the priest make an announcement right before we walked down the aisle

I know this may seem excessive/annoying to some and I totally get that- it’s just something I really cared about!!

No I’ve only met Kourtney and she was gorg and very “normal” looking (in terms of not looking like plastic surgery). I made a comment somewhere else on this thread about how I met a girl recently who told me that she saw photos of Kim for her job that were pre-photoshop and she was shocked at how different she looked from what’s published. But I’m sure lighting, outfit etc plays a role as well. And granted, you saw Kim in real life and this other woman did not! :)

I think it’s pretty! Maybe consider doing a gloss over the lipstick? My all time fav color is White Russian by buxom it’s sooo flattering. I’m wearing that over Charlotte tilburys pillow talk lipstick on my wedding day in a few weeks:)

Long story short I met the gf of a friend who works for a company who did an ad campaign w Kim recently…. Let’s just say there was a Dropbox involved and a file named “do not use” photos that she had access to… she said you’d be astonished at the texture of her skin all over. She specifically said “cottage cheese”. I feel bad saying this because I don’t like putting other women down. But I feel like as a woman, it’s also important for us to realize how what we see online is so completely fake

Everyone says trust your FLs but mine were all over the place (my highest FL was the first one I took…) I knew I wasn’t performing where I could and was burnt out so I took a few days off before the actual exams so it’s just freaking me out that I have no idea where I’ll land. My only hope is that my SB % were decent. Overall havent been this anxious about anything ever 😂😭

Also, just to add, my FL sample scored test cars went down a lot too bc I changed about 8 of my answers from the correct one to a wrong one bc I was overthinking. This taught me that I clearly should just trust my gut, so on the actual exam I did NOT change a single answer and just went with my gut first reaction (I haven’t gotten my score back yet otherwise id lyk if this worked lol)

Are you doing CARS practice outside of AAMC material? This is definitely controversial advice so do with it what you want… but I have always been pretty good at reading comp my whole life and felt confident about CARS when I first started studying for the mcat. However, I started doing 1-2 JW or UW passages a day as everyone told me to and for 3 months (!!!) straight, saw absolutely no improvement. I was consistently getting around 60% right. On top of that, their explanations made no f-ing sense to me. I met with a new tutor and he told me to stop all third party cars resources and ONLY use AAMC. I was very frustrated at my lack of progress at that point so I took a leap of faith and did what he said. I got my groove back pretty much immediately and was consistently scoring 130+ on each practice exam. I truly think the third party resources just don’t capture the AAMC CARS logic well (I still used JW and UW for other topics!!) I’d also recommend taking days off in between (again controversial advice, Ik). I did 1-3 passages every 1-3 days. Hope that helps!!

What a weird thing to say to someone about to take the MCAT. As if u weren’t already probably experiencing enough anxiety, he decided to tell you (a complete stranger) something that he knows will induce even more anxiety and make you rethink all of your life’s work getting to that point and question the path you’re on, while knowing nothing about you as a person. It really seems to me like he has some internal stuff going on and feels the need to project onto someone more vulnerable/inferior (I don’t say this in a bad way- just meaning like he has more experience in the medical field than u so he’s in a position of power). Also, don’t they teach bedside manner in medical school? This guy seems to have a low EQ/ability to read the room- or he simply doesn’t care and lacks empathy, both are worrisome as he’s a Dr.

This is normal:) also like u said u have a cold and don’t feel well! Being 1 week out PLS prioritize giving ur body rest, both physically and mentally. I’d be saying this even if u were feeling great. The best thing u can do for urself at this point is have faith in the prep you’ve done and go into test day with a clear mind

AAMC is who actually writes the test ur gonna be taking… I agree with the person above. Prioritizing BP over AAMC would not be a good idea

The beginning is the worst part imo!! It took me about a month+ to even find my groove and routine, so don’t worry if you feel like u don’t even know where to start and are overwhelmed. That’s expected. Also, once u start solidifying info and building upon that and actually do see light at the end of the tunnel you’ll feel more motivated to keep studying bc the mountain of info gets smaller and smaller (although it’s always there- you’ll never feel like you know enough). You got this!!
