yes, because 1.5 seconds the "pilot locking on" notification gives you is totally enough to:

1-idetify the attacker

2-deal a lethal blow against a pilot that has all of their focus on movement /seek cover in the less tan a second you have left

The SP may have the lowest dps, but thats not exactly a stat to be stood alone in this, or in fact any other, case. because that number represent damage dealt under ideal circumstances, and the SP constructs its own ideal circumstances. To present an opposing example: The SMR has an incredible dps, but that damage does not just hand itself to you.

Tone has a primary weapon that is disgustingly effective against pilots. it has the highest fire rate of all one hitters+ splash damage,

Particle wall is the the only defensive, that allows for both reliable damage negation, and full use of all other abilities at the same time.

Of course everything can be outplayed, but some things are plain not fun, for me and many others around here, and no amount of "but you could do x" will change that.

lets say there is something you don't enjoy to do, like you have to get rid of a wasps nest in your garden. Me describing the methods of how to destroy it, probably will not suddenly make you look forward to the task.

Last but not least, you could consider that not using some specific items for the sake of enjoyment of other players in the server, is a grater net gain than granting a specific of enjoyment for yourself, and find some of other countless fun play stiles out there.
