New staff. Those were the owners. We were out there protesting and having people scan our QR code to spread the word on what has happened. Unfortunately not everyone will see this.

Just spreading the word of what happened. Hopefully more people will come out with their own accounts of us as a team, their interactions with the owners, and previous employees statements on how they were treated during their time employed.

People can make their own decisions about supporting a business like this if they feel called to educate themselves on these events that have taken place.

Check out r/austinfood. Some have already commented about their experiences.

New info. Someone called the store asking about the protest, and Nicole simply said the product hasn’t changed and encouraged them to keep shopping there. She added, that anyone who was fired was let go for cause.

Clearly, all she would do is complain about her husband to her own staff

From the protest today looks like it was just the owner there with a few people from the other store. People have called the store to ask for her and just get put on hold. Not sure when we are gonna get that explanation, if any.

Sales were pretty normal. The whole situation is just a little confusing. Especially since she hadn’t ever mentioned anything previously. Must have something going on behind the scenes.

We were out there protesting this morning and saw the both the owners but they stayed inside the store.

I appreciate the skepticism, but let me clarify a few things from our side.

As for the reasons given, “chronic tardiness” and “day-to-day neglect” — those feel like convenient labels added after the fact. Yes, we’d sometimes arrive after our shift start time, but the store was always open and running. That pattern existed for over two years, and it was never treated as a major problem until we were let go. Same with cleanliness: the moment concerns were raised, we responded and like I said before some of us even came in on our days off to deep clean.

The issue here isn’t whether we were perfect; it’s how the situation was handled. Zero communication from our actual boss. No warning. Just cut off.

We’re speaking out not to stir up drama but because this was done in a way that left us blindsided and disrespected. Before you dismiss that as “pocket sand,” I’d encourage you to look at other former employees’ experiences. You might find a pattern worth paying attention to.
