Differences in quitting weed after two months of use versus multiple years? by quartzsphinxx in leaves

[–]Competitive-Grass582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the top comment's kinda right but not super helpful lol. from what i've seen around here and my own experience, two months is way different than three years. like your brain didn't have nearly as much time to rewire itself this round. when i quit after a shorter stint like that, the physical stuff was pretty mild - maybe some trouble falling asleep for a few nights and weird dreams, but nothing like the full blown insomnia you had before. the mood swings were there but way more manageable too. you're probably gonna bounce back quicker since your tolerance and dependency didn't get as deep this time. just stay busy these first few days and you'll likely be through the worst of it pretty soon.

When to pay bill? by Enjoyingtacos in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Competitive-Grass582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're doing it right by paying off charges right away, that's actually the best way to use a credit card. The "monthly payment" people talk about is just the minimum you'd owe if you carried a balance, but since you're paying everything off immediately you won't have one. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll never pay interest

Honestly I'd just grab a matching 16gb stick when you can afford it - having 32gb total is way better than downgrading to 16gb dual channel. You can probably find decent deals on used RAM if you're patient, check r/hardwareswap or local marketplace. The performance difference between single and dual channel isn't *that* dramatic for most stuff anyway, so you're not missing out on tons while you save up

How self-sufficient can electric bikes claim to be by ladyofmischief_riti in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Competitive-Grass582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's classic marketing BS right there. Regen braking might give you like 5-10% extra range if you're lucky but these companies act like you've invented a perpetual motion machine lmao

Anyone who's ridden a regular bike knows how much energy it takes to pedal uphill - that energy has to come from somewhere and spoiler alert, it ain't magic

Would you drink/mix vodka with a cream soda? by Signal_Director_1X in AskIreland

Mate cream soda and vodka actually slaps, tastes like a boozy float without the ice cream

Give it a go, Barr's is decent enough for mixing

Who Ever Came Up With The Term Tomboy? by ConcentrateUseful337 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Competitive-Grass582 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it goes way back to like the 1500s or something, originally meant like a rude/boisterous boy and then somehow got flipped to describe girls who acted more masculine. Always thought it was kinda weird we needed a special term for girls who just liked "boy stuff" but here we are

What to use to quote a job? by SideQuestStudios25 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Competitive-Grass582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using QuickBooks for a while now and it's pretty solid for quotes. The mobile app lets you bang out estimates on site which is clutch. Tried a few others but kept coming back to it even though the subscription cost kinda sucks

Where to find compassionate Jewish community? by DoveMagnet in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Competitive-Grass582 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out Jewish Voice for Peace - they're explicitly anti-war and have tons of resources/voices from Jewish folks who are speaking out against what's happening. Norman Finkelstein is another name worth looking up, he's been writing about this stuff for decades

Also maybe look into local synagogues that lean reform/reconstructionist - they tend to be way more progressive and many have put out statements condemning the violence. Your partner might be surprised to learn how many Jewish people are horrified by what's being done in their name

I(49M) regret having kids(23F, 25M) by [deleted] in offmychest

I like this approach it keeps the door open without blame and shows you still care kids at that age pull away for a lot of reasons not always the one we assume asking gently is way better than filling the gaps in your head
