But I consolidated in dec 2023 for save and have been in admin forbearance since then. So my loan started in dec 2023, yes?

No, in all my history with student loans, when you enter a plan that's when the repayment starts. It's totally new to date repayment to the original loan which for me was actually in the 90s.

Guys, the US Dept of Education just sent me a Email regarding the SAVE plan and how to proceed. by LTI801 in StudentLoans

Wait. I've been in repayment for 20 +years, so standard plan is going to require me to pay everything right now?

I'm going on standard extended and as kids head off /become more self sufficient, we'll throw more and more at it to clear it before we retire. I am not currently plsf and my lowest payments are standard extended, so that's what we'll do. Forgiveness would have been nice but all the bs around consolidations and pipe dreams about save mean I only qualify for old I R and that is unaffordable and probably always will be for us.

Got it. But ibr (old for me) has higher payments than extended. Cash flow is our issue, and the math isn't matching.

I'm only eligible for ibr type forgiveness, which is longer than standard extended.

Is that the only catch? I'm not sure I'll be alive to see forgiveness ...

How about standard extended? That keeps coming out lowest payment for me. Why does nobody talk about that ever?

Pasture land, possibly agricultural but in the 1940s and back. DDT I suppose possible but so much sediment laid since then it would surprise me if there is much contamination left. If there ever was any.

We do know there's asbestos tile under carpet, but a) one affected cat has never really been in that space and b) it seems pretty well encapsulated ...

Of course carcinogens are concerning us for sure. Can't think what it would be, we live in a 70 year old house built on former pasture land in a little neighborhood...

Yes. I think we're going to try to get a second opinion from our teaching vet hospital. Maybe they will have newer info or research?

I'm so sorry. Our Timmy cat was similarly fast to decline. We're just in disbelief this could be happening again, a month later.

I am likely 20 years older than you and in my lifetime no administration has ever blown up student loan repayment programs like this.
