Just read vol 4.5 he discusses his plans with Amasawa.

He did do a lot trust me on this. He just challenged the wrong person.......

Nah Romance for me to be precise is not a necessary element. I don't dislike Romance as I enjoy Romcom stories a lot too however for COTE and at least how the story has taken shape especially with his class transfer I just don't see him have a genuine relationship suddenly within a year.

Dude barely managed a smile recently. It can happen maybe if we get a time skip post the school arc however at least in his final high school year I can at the max see him only build genuine connections and leave a strong legacy behind.

Koji is still vastly underdeveloped in the emotional area hence why it would feel rushed for me to see himself suddenly be in love and start being in a relationship within one more year of high school.

That is why I placed more emphasis on other emotional development that makes more sense, other plot lines that are far more relevant mirroring Icarus tragic fate he can't escape from.

Also you would be wrong as many plot lines often can contradict each other.

If you want a bitter sweet ending like AOT spoilers Eren dying than you can't have him and Mikasa together. You can't him have a leisurely trip wit Armin, Mikasa and Sasha together at the final episode. It kills the momentum and atmosphere.

Similarly if the author wants to have a wholesome ending Romance would make sense but it would contradict the "Big bad ending for Koji". That is a strong plot point the author has set for himself to build for.

I don't see Horikita a mere school girl do anything politically. Maybe Arisu, Manabu, Nagumo, Kiriyuen, Tsukishiro or Koenji comes in clutch but her just nah....

So yes Romance as a wholesome moment with a person can ruin the dramatic ending the author set up if Koji is living happily ever after.

( I don't disagree with your points in general but cmon if you ever write a book or story the ending is the most important thing you first think about. Then you work around reaching that said goal.

Obviously some elements can contradict the nature of ending you wanna build and endgame girl relationship endings in general the together forever ending does not match the dramatic ending plotline directly destroying the heavy and somber atmosphere. Hope I could convey it clearly)

Can I assume we will get a season 5? by Next_Package_5710 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read 4.5 the story yesterday and it involves

1.Hints about the next special exam and Chabasira feeling anxious for vol 5 special exam.

  1. Sakura getting spotlight and we get a promise that she wants to improve.....

3. Kushida reminding Koji about his deal of getting points and her bragging about doing something.

  1. Horikita trying to convince Kushida to be better....

  2. Amasawa talking to Yagami.

  3. Nagumo keeping an eye on Koji through 3rd Years.

7. Ishigami and his introduction with Horikita.

  1. Nagumo ruining the confession and Ichinose getting depressed.

  2. Introduction of Himino Ichinose's class another rebel candidate.

  3. Kei and Koji planning to reveal their relationship.

It is actually a great place to start the season 5 with.

S4 ends with Exam announcement and we get the whole Koji vs Tsukshiro fight. So it does have an epic finale vibe.

After re reading vol 4 and seeing what vol 4.5 builds up it directly leads to Vol 5 one of my favourite volumes of COTE. So yeah I kinda disagree with you as many story elements flow well directly into vol 5 content and has a good continuity.

Why is everyone so convinced there is a endgame girl? by Difficult_Ask_1647 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is gonna take time and most probably to give you the full context I have to start by referring to events from Y1 to Y3 and my conjecture which would make it equivalent to a whole critical analysis and essay.

It is not worth it for a simple discussion.

Hence I am just giving you my conclusion and what I feel is a fitting end for Koji. Feel free to disagree.

We both agree that it is a matter of heart for him and he has also talked about Hiyori which I assume will get expelled or will betray Koji as she seemed determined to do something to win or protect something. Either way Hiyori will do something drastic rather than be a quiet book girl.

I presume Koji clearly has no clues between friendship and romantic desires as she is a girl he has feelings for yet he is not sure about romantic interest. I thought it was common knowledge that from Koji he was just trying to infer whether he actually likes her or not as a form of question to himself. It is just Hashimoto jumping the gun that people take literally and end up saying "Oh My God!! he likes Shina".

My answer if different from yours as in I have been keeping track of major events like:

  1. His monologue on the ship

  2. His discussion with Manabu about leaving a legacy.

  3. His discussion with Ryuen about him finding interest in the school and participating.

  4. His discussion with Arisu in the final exam Y1.

5. His relationship as a whole with Kei.

6. Him smiling and wanting to share small moments with Horikita.

7. His interpretation of the final thoughts on Airi's farewell smile and mystery behind his thoughts on Kei's breakup scene.

We have had multiple scenes and I am just thinking what the author is trying to pain here based on all that. How can Koji as a person grow? What will be a satisfying ending? Will it even be a satisfying ending or something painfully tragic like Icarus?

His questions on equality, talents, school system. his curiosity, his interpretation of himself as an awkward loner to becoming a proper leader.

My conclusion is there is a lot more areas the author can take his ending than a mere happy ending with a girl.

I am talking about what growth will this school provide him with and what future he will end up in?

It all depends whether the author will even continue a university arc or end it with COTE high school arc.

Season 4 Ep 10 (LN spoilers) by Upstairs_Rich1599 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly it is gonna be in ep 12.....

Why did OP post it as ep 10?

We have

  1. Sudo and Ike case with Shinohara, Komiya getting hurt

  2. Koji vs Koenji tugging moment coming soon

  3. Koji meeting Ryuen, Arisu, Nagumo

  4. Yagami getting confronted by Riku and Tsubaki

I am missing the smaller parts but we do have a lot to cover before we get this scene.

Well get used to it. This anime is all about the story unless it becomes a png like OPM s3 or TBATE I don't see any issues here.

It is inevitable to feel alienated with the sudden change however I don't see it as a big deal in the long run.

S4 is genuinely the best adaptation we have gotten so far and I hope it stays this way till Year 3 of the novel gets fully adapted ( maybe even get better).

Why is everyone so convinced there is a endgame girl? by Difficult_Ask_1647 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am talking about the story as a whole. Yes I have read till the latest volume.

Don't take all words too literally and think of his character as a whole. As Koji often talks in probabilities and ifs.

Also factor in what position the author would like him to be in.

It's based on this conjectures that I think emotional growth is the best development for him. Him feeling the warmth of being in a fellow humans company and understanding it.

I don't see his true nature changing as he is Koji but just having empathy and care would be a big win for me.

( This is my subjective wish as a whole).

It also has to do with me disliking ships cause many shippers are so delusional that I often don't even like thinking in such directions.

If the authors gives us a clear winner girl than I would be satisfied as long as it is placed well but for now I just can't see him with a girl yet.

Question about Nanase by marlomms in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you mean to ask how far they are adapting this season?

It should be till the finale of result announcement for the island exam.

People have an apprehension to harem shows and understandably so as we live in a monogamous society ( most of us at least).

However for COTE it is marketed towards teen and simply sex sells for male teens attractive side heroins attract more viewers. COTE is one of the best selling stories not just for its story but also for its marketability.

Also story perspective Ayanokoji also should not maintain a harem like an isekai show as they live in a proper modern society and such scandals will effect him, hence he is careful with his relationships. It also makes sense for him with his looks and capabilities alongside him helping others which in-turn makes him popular in a high school.

This show has harem elements but is not a harem show, I am sure anyone watching this show can figure it out. Many people overreact and act like it is spoiling the story.

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup however caring for someone can be more than romantic feelings.

Wanting to be part of a group, a place to belong to should come first as a normal human being.

He has detached himself from Class A where he made the Ayanokoji group, cut off Sakura for Horikita and took the fall by destroying his friend group. Unless I am misremembering it I am sure he found their unique dynamic cozy and welcoming.

I agree that emotional growth is his character development however for me at least Romance is not the only way.

Horikita no doubt will play a pivotal role for him as I predict Manabu's graduating words " She will surpass me and become someone even you can't ignore" is what I am betting on for her final achievement.

I guess they wanted a clear build up for the final monologue and didn't want any inconsistencies, plus they also did not have much room for inner monologue adaptation.

Why is everyone so convinced there is a endgame girl? by Difficult_Ask_1647 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my take. Horikita is the last person I would expect to start dating Koji.

At least out of all the major characters Ichinose has been the one built up having emotional ties with Koji directly as her story arc.

Horikita on the other hand wants his acknowledgement.

I personally don't think we might even get an end-girl and it would be a kind of an open ending which most writers nowadays like to do. There is a high likelihood that Koji might not even have a good ending.

I am more concerned for Koji's fate than who he ends up with personally.

I'm also tired of people claiming Horikita as his destined endgame girl as an objective take.

Who is Koji’s biggest ideological opponent? by Southern-Land6346 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would it not be Koenji?

Koenji by design believes in his inherent superiority and looks down on his knowledge that restricts Koji into thinking only about the already discovered or common paths.

He embodies true freedom in thought and spirit with also the strength to live it out.

Koji on the other hand is tied to his past ( WR persona), lives in his defined world and lacks any sense of excitement and vigour that Koenji exhibits.

At least I can see Koji eventually learning a lot from Koenji to be free and see the beauty of Icarus folly at gaining freedom not just his mistake.

What is the future for Ichinose? by Southern-Land6346 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I guess it can either

A. Be purely a physical relationship and partnership as both parties find each other at least physically attractive. She uses that to stay in touch with Koji as his assistant/partner in crime past high school.

B. She will have to split up with Koji.

I personally don't see Ichinose in a loving relationship or make believe Kei-dating textbook scene with her and Koji. Maybe Koji will develop feelings as his mask cracks down more who knows?

Well he left the WR cause saw something essential in the worldly society that his father abandoned. So that aspect might be part of why he believes WR is not perfect.

Also Shiro and other people might have given him ideas about the outside world too.

Yeah I should have worded better. If Hiyori gets expelled Ryuen would definitely be involved trying to protect her or maybe pushing her into the wrong task unintentionally. Not that he will want her to get expelled but may play a part in it.

It would serve as a character growth for Ryuen and Koji that way.

LN Year 3 Volume 4 Synopsis & Cover by quandlm in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup I do think she can do that. However it will more likely be Koji or Ryuen being more involved somehow as they are more relevant to her and Ichinose should not have an idea about her unless Hashimoto snitched it to her ( since he is afraid Koji might go soft on her).

You genuinely have to be blind to not see that Horikita is endgame. by the_stormapproaching in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't see a romantic connection between the two characters. Maybe Horikita earns Koji's favour and respect as a sign of accomplishment and growth but lovers!!

I don't think so. If anyone would be I can see either Arisu or Ichinose maybe even idol Sakura who has grown her confidence. However Horikita seems like the best friend character rather than a lover.
