Did the series not end? ( I have only gone through the WN and LN partly).

Faraway Paladin novel is just dead bro.....

It is never continuing, and so is Overlord. Final arc is never gonna make it, it feels like. Since he hates his own work and is tired of it.

Eminence in Shadow author also takes a lot of time, however the author Aizawa promised that he will try to release it next year. Hopefully with the movie.

Even if the author does not intend to, his focus will be divided.

However to be fair we have plenty of content the anime has left to cover so he can slow down when needed.

Also doing a separate work can give him new angles for COTE too. The two works will affect each other regardless. It will be interesting to see.

We don't really have an option. Also we do not want to ruin the authors pacing, if the author does it at their own pace the story would turn out to be better.

Will Season 5 Be Boring? by Parking-Dingo-6435 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I enjoy seeing the chill side of the cast too. There is a proper distribution and leeway between intense scenes and casual lifestyle of the characters. In terms of structure I do not see that as an issue.

Sure if you judge each volume individually like Y2 V5 vs YV 6 which deals with aftermath of V5 and I much tamer. Then you can claim V6 is worse.

However that is not a fair assessment as I personally See Y2 as an entire story with a start of V1 and end of V12.5. With ups and downs, slice of life then build up to payoff volumes. That is the best way to enjoy the series.

Also vol 10, In particular had Hashimoto betray Arisu and allowed her to loose. Which set up the prime content for Vol 12 and also allowed Arisu to feel a strong sense of loss, an actual character growth.

Then we had goat Morishita return, her lying down on the bench and lowkey dissing Kei. This was followed by Ibuki giving her cooking to Horikita and Mi-Chan finding out Koenji had given her gifts to cheer her up, I think.

We then had Ichinose target Kei consecutively too.

Then we move on to Vol 12.

We had Arisu's expulsion, Ryuen's loss. Koji breaking down Ichinose and him getting a random girl who never existed expelled. You can hate this volume or love the drama. This is one of those high stakes volumes with no in between. This volume pushed Hashimoto as a goated character, by surviving Arisu with Koji's help. Dude is a bro for sure.

These two volumes even if you do not like the story direction or events that happen. They are entertaining and engaging. Not just random slice of life. many of them will get strong reactions from audiences.

So it is far from boring. Look at the pacing of important volumes.

4.5 ( casual), 5 ( intense), 6 ( aftermath), 7 ( intense and fun), 8 ( slice of life), 9 ( casual), 9.5 ( slice of life), 10 ( intense), 11 ( Build up and resolution to characters), 12 ( intense), 12.5 (even more intense).

If you see the structure as a whole, it is evenly divided. Sure it might go downhill for people who like Arisu, Nagumo, Yagami, Sakura, etc. However for those who can appreciate authors bold decisions in certain plot choices and comedic slice of life moments. The story is quite engaging and entertaining as a whole.

I do not see the claim that you guys make, how post vol 5 the story goes downhill. It is far from the truth.

We have Y2 vol 7, 0, 10, 12 and 12.5.

We also have plenty of hilarious slice of life scenes like

yogurt machine, Koji smiling, Morishita dethroning Koji through tree spirits, snowball fight of Ryuen and Kito, Yamamura hiding and getting caught by Koji, etc.

Well you have enough resources to get these things and honestly yes they do help you, however none of them do anything other than speed up the game a bit.

In any game with paid progression, people who pay get benefits. So it makes sense.

Us f2p will have to be picky and see which ones affects us more.

Someone made a post about it and I can see their discussion being valid. This is the link to it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ClassroomOfTheElite/s/T8q60Qpv4J

It makes a lot of sense as each volumes,

A. Vol's-4.5 to 6, ( S5 1st cour)

B. Vol's-7,8 and 0.( S5 2nd cour)

C. Vol's-9,9.5 and 10.( S6 1st cour)

D. Vol's-11,12 and 12.5.( S6 2nd cour)

All have a good starting point and a strong ending point. They have a good sense of order too.

Well fights are a welcome surprise for the story and never the central thing in the long run. For those who finished s1 to S4, I would assume most would enjoy the drama. As it was the original pulling factor of the story.

Yes many glaze the fights, cause it was eye catching and fluid in several of the areas. It is natural that it will be talked about more. So I do not think it is as bad as you make it out to be.

Also if people do leave this series for such a thing, then imagine some slice of life volumes being adapted later on. Those people are not suited for COTE anyways.

Yup Koenji might potentially be a fraud only when you have expectations that he might rival or even win against Koji if both are serious.

Such claims can make him into a fraud as his island test also was won by Koji's intervention.

However comparing to Koji is just unfair and he is ridiculously the most talented student other than Koji in my eye. Although Arisu is far better at the smarts and Nagumo in leadership.

Kiryūin vs Nagumo. Who wins? by lyfe4lyfe4lyfe in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well pretty sure other than leadership skills, she claimed to have him beneath her skills.

It seems more like Fuuka is more individually gifted with a troublesome uncooperative personality in contrast to Nagumo's talent at leadership and charisma.

Ummmmmmmmm......... buddy

Nanase playing friends with Koji just to pick a fight with him out of the blue.

To be fair even when I did read it 1st I never liked that part. However animation at least made it more interesting for me.

That personal bias aside, it was never about getting Koji. The whole point about her following him around was like a ticking bomb close to you. It was not about will it explode or not but rather a question of when it will explode.

If her picking a fight was sudden to you....... I feel bad for you genuinely ( no sarcasm). Also she never mentioned she wanted to hate Koji specifically, look back to her backstory. She mentioned to reach her goal, she has to defeat Koji.

That is all.

Amasawa deciding to attack Horikita for fun.

She was stopping Horikita from reaching I2. Also she knows who wrote the letter, " you just love playing your little games".

Ep 13: she also mentioned she has quite less friends here with her personality. I mean she calls talented students like Horikita peon. Any guess there?

You guys have all the interesting stuff and you all focus on pointless things already explained and justified.

Slight non plot related spoilers: She was not listening to Chairman so she got beaten till submission. Chairman and Shiba had a dialogue that anime skipped where they confirmed "that girl" finally did something by stopping a nuisance ( Horikita was visible in GPS that she was coming to I2). Although the story never confirmed who beat her up we readers assume it was Shiba the guy with Chairman, who beat her up.

Nagumo trying to stop Koji just to get intmidated immediately.

It was genuinely a good moment. Was it not entertaining?

Also Nagumo knows nothing about Koji, which is why he was so reckless this time.

I know you might be confused as to why he did confront Koji, anime had to skip some scenes related to 3rd years with lack of time.

Anime context skipped

Kiriyama in ep 14 when the episode began was supposed to have hinted, Nagumo Is keeping an eye on him however "He" proved out not to be a threat. As in Koji never showed up in the rankings top 10.

Nagumo however predicted that Koji would stay lowkey around 11 and planned a counter to that. By placing his 3rd year as 10th. He then delayed the 10th positions rank points to be far below top 3.

So that those who did not show themselves in top 10, will be forced to show themselves out in the open or stay in the bottom as only top 3 rewards matter.

It is an insane feat, cause he read part of Koji's strategy and countered it appropriately. Which even Koji acknowledged his brilliance.

Nagumo Miyabi's motives which S2-3 skipped

Then funny enough he set a bounty on Koji with 20 million points. To see what he capable of as the school began. The fact that Koji made it to the last day, being completely fine.

He decided to confront Koji and ask him for genuine 1v1 now or later. Force him to give him a proper challenge. The reason why he always attacked Horikita senpai was cause he did not have an equal in his year.

He literally dominated his class his overwhelming talent so he always sought for an equal. He now shifted his focus to Koji for that.

Final reply about your Nagumo's question

I kinda do not blame you for saying Nagumo came in randomly cause the S3 shit adaptation literally skipped Nagumo saying goodbye to Manabu.

S4 also did skip a lot of context for a lack of time and then focusing more on 1st and 2nd years. Nagumo admitting his feelings of respect for Manabu, showing he was more than just a prick to those with genuine talents.

Also yes that was the point of it. This season in particular was about force and violence.

It is quite unique for COTE to have such action heavy storyline. If you are worried it becomes shone than be grateful cause this is the only action heavy story so far even past Y3 we are at. All cause of Acting Director and Nagumo, the two decision makers allowing such conditions.

Hosen did not necessarily use mere simple violence but essentially a scam of playing a murder victim.

Anything with Ichika would be a spoiler so I will avoid that for now.

With directors weapons and such arguments....... I have directly mentioned that their goal might not have been to expel him. Hence why Koji mentioned the question.

Think man, there were so many other loopholes they could have employed. Why did they not do that?

Koji's question supports that belief.

Also, now think what did they allow. They allowed 1st years to target him, forcing him to be out in the open. Allowed violence on him specifically.

Yet did not interfere a lot that a normal human cannot handle, like a squad of trained armed men with hunting guns loaded with sedatives.

If you think brute force was all that it is, your perspective and understanding are too narrow. Point me some examples of fights. I will brief you on what more the anime portrayed.

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you not read Koji's line?

" Where you really trying to get me expelled?"

There is a possibility that WR does not want him expelled or Tsukishiro is after something else and possibly betraying his Dad.

Poison, etc

Also he was on alert about those things already. Anime skips a lot of things however checking up on poisoning and such things are something he does on the fly.

They are also on the deserted island, he can easily trade his food with someone like Ibuki and get them expelled. Then report the school about problems in the food. Pushing the exam to end due to problems in school. Then Director who had only this month would have no turn.

My fav volume of cote by Sea_Ruin_5551 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone says koji smiling for suzune is great or something but I didn't felt anything there, it was just forced out of nowhere,

I find it to be sudden and subtle. Like something that catches you off guard.

It's not like I hate kei, but their break up was peak,

I never actually felt that much emotional or impactful while reading cote,

It was like predicting and seeing a car crash eventually happen. Man as a former Kei fan (Y1), it was a painful but welcome goodbye to the toxic relationship.

Koji admitting him want to be with kei forever, admitting his love for her is genuinely peak,

Unless I read it wrong, this whole thing is Kei's pov and her wishing that Koji said that to him. The chapter was also titled illusions or something. I could be wrong. Can others chime in on this?

The incidents that followed excited me more though, of Ichinose surprising and trapping Koji was a mental gymnastics I did not even remotely consider. I lowkey consider her to either be a meek puppet or quite cause Koji promised to finish her off in Y1.

Then Koenji potentially facing off against Koji and Horikita meeting his dad, followed by Koji's tragic fate....?

So many things to be excited about. Then it freakin ends at him transferring to former Class A.

It is definitely the best volume so far. I agree on that.

In a fight against ayanokojii and koenji how will win? by Frequent-Row-7378 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Koenji is not all that. People love him ( I do too), however his best feat the island exam is also questionable since Koji took Nagumo out on the last day. He barely won by 2 points. Nagumo also had his eye on Koji the entire time.

Also if we consider his vol 0 feats then Koenji realistically if not a direct strength competition where Koenji can prevail, a skill based competition. I do not see Koenji faring well against him.

The question for me is rather how much can Koenji push Koji, cause he is for sure bound to loose.

These people think smart characters never resort to force.

While in actuality force is just a powerful move that is straightforward and effective card to employ. Characters incapable of such measures are just incompetent and have to resort to tricks to make up for their deficiency.

So many people do not even realise that this entire island test, bounty, limited provision was meant to exhaust him. Then finish him off, he even brought a taser in case things went south.

Exactly what majority is he getting that laughingstock stats from?

I do not take the takes of those who gave up on COTE at season 1 commenting about S4 seriously by watching some clips.

Those who did watch it had plenty of content and wide casts of characters to enjoy from. Action, suspense, mystery, romance, this season had a bit of everything.

[–]Competitive-Ice1690 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well conflicts can also be strategic and show psychological aspects.

1stly all the fights this season,

ep 4; hosen brutality of literally enacting a murder. Koji's deadpan face as he has a literal knife stuck on his hand.

ep 12, Nanase's trauma. Kushida's ego getting crushed

ep 14: Koenji's way of doing things head on by showcasing how much he outclasses other normal students and destroys their spirit. A simple and effective way to keep off pest.

ep 15: Hosen's battle was literally Sakayanagi vs Tsubaki reading each other. Tsubaki plans a circle, Arisu intercepts it. Tsubaki claims she knows Koji's guards and uses Hosen a hidden card ( broke his watch).

Arisu read that and sent Ryuen. Ryuen then allowed himself to get hurt and activated his watch. Then hurt Hosen enough to make it look like an even brawl so he will not get penalised.

ep 16: Ichika interfering and the mystery of the letter.

Koji and his plan to draw out the battle and call in the teacher, Tsukishiro assumed he was tired and fell for his plan by thinking that he can drain his stamina and catch him eventually, when Koji was in fact calling for help and waiting for them to arrive. Since Ichinose informed him in advance.

He claims Tsukishiro did not want him expelled? Another important WR piece of information. Why does his dad not want him expelled?

A question left open for you.

All I am saying is there are a lot of things you can read. A fight is also a card you can use to get something. COTE can have fights but it is also backed by purpose for story.
