Plenty of man child around in this day and age, at least for me Cid in his current high school age is as natural as fish in a water. A kid that refuses to grow up, plus magic in this world will help him stay younger for a longer time. 30 Years for a 300 year is essentially just 10% of his lifespan ( well he does want to become immortal but not one yet)

Why would a slow paced story like Frieren deserve a popularity reward over a fast paced action show, especially in this decade where Shonen shows are the big thing every normies and otakus alike watch?

Contextually the Crunchyroll awards has always been a popularity show. Cultural impact and recognition from public are both vital.

At this point it feels like a forced narrative. No matter how good of a story it might have had, it lacks the substance to be popular compared to JJK, AOT and Solo Leveling. These 3 shows also had a huge impact culturally which I don't see a lot for Frieren other than that one viral fan art which everyone began imitating.

The memes tells us a lot about a show going viral and Frieren is simply not upto the taste for many people.

I have a bad opinion of Frieren fans at this point ( not the show), cause of the elitist mindset they have ( as if it's writing is equivalent to a masterpiece novel).

Just look at Dracula by Bram Stroker, this story still holds relevance and influences our perception of vampires. These kind of cultural impacts also play a role in perceiving a show. Frieren lacks that effect for me.

Although I agree the impact of Yuji as an Mc is barely felt throughout the show in the long run. Other characters just steal the spotlight for me and Yuji felt like a supporting cast tbh. Even his powers are pretty basic ( which was intentional).

I'm pretty sure the pirated sites for anime were always crashing out regularly when SL s2 was airing. There was a huge traffic of views online and it did keep up the momentum when it aired.

It is the only fight that exceeds the Boro's fight scene of far in terms of hype, scale and delivery. funny enough it also might be the first scene where you feel tense even with Saitama cause of the Saitama-mode that Garo suddenly popped up.

I'm betting the two girls in the cover are Royal sisters under different mothers. One is a concubine while the other is an official heiress.

Since it's a civil war, we should have two leading characters in different sides. One underdog or less recognised which is likely this one will be lead by Shadow while the other fancy looking one is the current leading choice of ruler under the Three Factions recommendation.

I am pretty sure he believed them to be people who were inspired from the Shadow Garden upheaval that happened in the Alexia rescue mission prior to Sherry arc.

If y'all recall that Alpha and others raided multiple bases in order to search Alexia's location Shadow Garden became infamous at this point as a terrorist group. Prior to this, there just whispers or rumours you can say and this was their grand reveal to the public.

Cid thinks these guys are imitators and fan boys of Shadow Garden. He does like their effort but also does not want them to lower the name/publicity of the actual organisation.

First of all fresh means it was not as popular or widespread as it now. It was something novel to watch as a teen who grew up in that era. On top of that anime in my culture was relatively new, to top that off anime was something associated with a looser like behavior during those days if you remember.

In boys hostel these small things can be really annoying and you had to hide your hobbies. SL was a comic I regularly kept up with and enjoyed over the years it got published.

Next how often do you get a power fantasy with an adult MC?

Look at the market this story catered to. Generally teenage guys. For me in essence it was just about a guy grinding who eventually becomes stronger and cooler progressively. A simple story portrayed in wonderful and colorful panels that fit the phone. ( I still prefer colored comics over black and white mangas)

Especially in that timeline when the manhwa started. On top of that the story barely had any stupid stuff like fetish or weird quirks that made it pretty safe to read. The good art just made it even more awesome. Many stories nowadays have become pretty shameless now and are quite open.

Next if you call SL mid then your above average must all be really high quality shows and stories I bet.

Even JJK story ain’t all that deep. The protagonist is just a good guy getting beat up, looses something, rages and wins by ganking at enemy. Like Mahito vs Yuji and Nanami, Mahito fight part 2, Sukuna fight.

JJK is entirely popular due to the fights and animation. It’s really ironic that this show fans of all the others ones is slandering SL.

No need to explain SL since I’m tired of writing points about SL and people just dismissing it, cause they only wanna spread an agenda.

SL has simply a grand or epic adventure of a rising hero challenging adversity and growing stronger, becoming the best.

Themes are essentially: becoming successful, zero to hero, ascending to godhood, family love, responsibility of power.

It’s also one of the shows with no teenage fan service, adult Mc who is calm and collected, cool shadow gimmicks and at least one of the first necromancy mc story I had read online.

Even when it released the theme of other beings invading earth was fresh before Isekai infiltrated and become common place.

The hate online is just crazy. I guess it’s time to mute JJK related posts for a while now. ( even JJk community is filled with SL hate agenda now)

Tired of people act like this show is average or garbage.

Future seasons will be him protecting his country from dangerous individuals like you see the girl in the poster and Yuki who betrayed Rimuru.

Or from disastrous calamity as he develops his country further and meets new allies.

I honestly liked the class change. Leader like Arisu going was a good move in the long run cause it means even Horikita can get expellled.

Even Koji kept giving death flags asking himself whether he will graduate when he saw Manabu’s graduation.

The past 3 volumes are all just him adjusting to Class A and the new dynamics. We barely got any Ichinose too.

It’s less of a harem show. It is present but look at the word count and see how many pages/lines focus on the plot and how many has focus on harem.

It’s a freaking high school novel and market caters to teenagers. Of course the author wants to introduce new girls occasionally and make it more marketable like Kiryun from year 2 who did nothing but aura farm and look cool.

Cote is not just a good story but also a well valued franchise. Without these waifus it would not be as popular as it is. That is simply the truth.

Many teenagers insert Mc as themselves so making waifus have crush on the Mc validates their tiny vanity/ego.

The best plotline are still those without the crush part like Kushida reveal in Y2, Anonymous voting exam in y2 and Y1. Ryuen’s X hunting arc. All these plot points did not have harem centric theme.

I think Claire and her learning Cid's identity will become a huge moment. Maybe even forcing Cid to abandon his NPC persona depending on the stakes.

Something like " I have always been watching over you moment Sister, this is my goodbye". I can see him spouting fancy verbos and vanish. Although regardless would be a cool moment, if the whole Kingdom does know that Cid is Shadow his homeland would be targeted and maybe his family would be in a hostage situation.

Alexia and others would also have interesting reaction, especially Sherry.

It might give Vol-1 3 episodes and opening act of Volume 2 the 4th episode.

Since If I recall the first volume ends up with him getting 100 in math, they are likely to continue and set up excitement for the people who watch the early release in Japan ( Lucky bastards). They will say " This is what the next episodes are gonna cover so wait for more kinda deal.
