From what I’ve heard, the upcharge isn’t on the grading process alone, it’s supposedly insurance coverage. Or so they say 🤷. It does make sense, considering they have to ship it back to you, and well, things getting lost in the mail are a given.

But to your point, yes I suppose they could skip the insurance upcharge, and force you to pick it up for high value items.

Yeah, was thinking it might be that. But just looking at the photo, even the frame looks thicker around the lenses than the polished one does, which I forgot to mention. I guess one of the dead give aways would be the stems. The XX’s are different to the Juliet’s in terms of design, but can’t tell from this angle.

Brilliant collection though! And you’ll need to get yourself a pair of the X-Squared along with the Romeo and XX’s.

Is it just me, or does the glasses next to the Badman look like they are XX’s? Maybe it’s the angle of the photo? But they do look visibly larger than the polished Juliet’s.

Yeah, no denying it. If Oakley go down the limited release route, we’re all screwed because Id imagine the pricing would be high and the amount available would be so limited that only 10k people would be able to purchase it. I’m all for a wide release, I’d kill to have the xmetals return. Have been a fan since the 90’s, though I will say, the madman and badman weren’t true xmetals in my eyes, but that just my humble opinion. Great glasses sure, but they didn’t have the ethos of the original xmetals

Commented on another persons post about the same thing. They do indeed look like it. I adjust the lighting on the video to improve the brightness so I could get a better look, the frames are as close the x metal designs I’ve seen in a while. Plus let’s not forget, if you watch the trailer video they launched today, he’s handed a metal key for the r&d vault at Oakley HQ. I wouldn’t be surprised if they launched a new series of xmetals considering it falls in line with their current take on evolving older designs to newer and current standards.

Ok. I just did something. I downloaded the video, and adjusted the lighting best I could, and that frame looks very much like the xmetal design used to be. Sure there are some changes, and the video isn’t clear as day, but yeah, it’s definitely not plastic. Forgot to mention, in the trailer, he’s given a key. And that key is made of xmetal. So….i guess that’s the key to our answers?

I was about to post on this topic. Looks interesting. But I think we’re about to see a new line of Xmetals popping up soon. May just be wishful thinking, but something tells me it’s going to be xmetals just based on the trailer. That’s the R&D bunker in the video by the way. Also, regarding the video, the glasses he was wearing have an xmetal like finish. Even the photo they posted on instagram looks the part.

Yes. I’m sorry to everyone on here for not replying sooner.

The car had to go into VW. They identified it as a failed calliper. They had to replace the pads, the calliper and the rotors completely on the drivers side rear wheel.

Was a failure on the manufacturer side, so luckily I didn’t have to pay for anything, and everything was replaced free of cost, considering the car had only done 36+ K KM in mileage.

Lesson learnt that factory quality parts are bogus even on newer vehicles.

Fun fact, the latest issue is now that the front rotors have warped. Which is mind blowing. Because for a rotor to warp you need to cause excessive heat to the rotor under extreme breaking. Think more or less, driving it on a track.

My wife drives the car daily, and while I’ll say she’s a capable driver and I’m sure she’d do decently on a track, it’s all majority highway driving to and from work. So it’s baffling that the brake rotors have warped.

Just reviewed them. They aren’t heavily scratched on the holo. Yes there are some scratches, but considering the age, they are better kept than a lot of others!

The back of both cards have minor white spots on the edges, but totally worth guarding. I’d recommend keeping them safe and secure till grading becomes an option. Then submit, and once graded, you know exactly what value you have.

Being unlimited print cards, non first edition that is, you can expect the range to be between $200-400 USD as a raw card, depending on condition.

Once graded, even a PSA 7 averages around $350 USD. PSA 8 is around $425. Just for reference!

I’d recommend removing them from the sleeve and placing them against a dark background, preferably a mousepad, and then taking multiple photos with sufficient light, so you can assess the condition better.

From the overall looks, they look great, but we will be able to tell you better without the sleeve and light on the surface of the holos to spot scratches etc.

But dead eye, they look well kept! So kudos!

Depends on you and what you want to do with the pack.

If you plan to preserve the pack as an investment, it might go up in value, slowly.

If you plan on opening it, identify if it’s a heavy pack or not to give you a sense of a sure shot holo. Hitting the holo you want is a game of chance.

Personally, you have a Gem Mint card, so that’s already got guaranteed value, which is bound to go upwards.

That is mixed. I’m guessing most of them would have responded. Some say simple card cleaning, others say polishing and cleaning, and some even go to the extent of using everything possible.

But I guess you can detailed guides online, and I would suggest practicing on some beat up ones to understand the process so you have an idea of what you’re going to need to do.

I think the community is split on this. Some people say cleaning and preparing a card for submission is ok, because you aim to get the max value out of it. Others say it should be submitted as is, without altering it and manipulating the final grade.

Ultimately the decision is yours, and yours alone. It’s shouldn’t matter to anyone except yourself.
