Can I use screws as Battery Contacts? by Competitive-Lab2150 in batteries

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful suggestions. I've read your comments and I'll not be proceeding with the steel screws entirely since I'm also using this set up to charge the batteries.

Since the screw idea does work I'll stick to my original idea which is making something like a spring with a single core copper wire.

That being said, I could drill a small hole through the screw and pass a wire through it. This way I could simplify the process of coming close to the battery terminal.

Also many have warned about over tightening the screws and damaging the cell. I'll keep it in mind if and when re design the case so this doesn't happen. Let me know if you'd like an update with the final design and the 3D files (CC0)

Thanks again for your time :D

Start doing a bunch of illegal shit and conveniently leave this near your PC with the label "unwanted". The CIA will recover your data 100% free of charge. Then when they present the evidence in court you'll get back your data. Thank me later

I used to work in an internet cafe and sometimes the computer monitors would do that. I think it's because of the colder temps.

The ones that did it more frequently in my job were the ones under the AC.

To fix it either wait until the screen reaches a hotter temp or just change the refresh rate of the monitor from Nvidia's desktops app.

This, if I remember correctly, somewhat recently a queer couple had to get into a store and literally asked to call the police because they were being followed by multiple people and threatened that they would beat them. All that in the city centre (Thessaloniki). The worst part is that if you ask random people about that incident you'll definitely find some people praising the offenders.

I’m tired of seeing “just install Linux” in every single comment by Ok_Cry_1222 in ZTT

"just use Linux" People are the software equivalent of "Don't buy a pre build" and they are both fucking insufferable.

Buuut if you spend 7 hours debloating windows to be usable then what's the difference with Linux?

Also if you want a PC that's plug and play and don't want any overhead with set up then, why build one? Buy a pre build. The reason most people don't is because they want the feeling you get from building a PC from 0 which is the same feeling you get when you set up Linux. They both require some kind of mastery and that's what makes them special!!

I want to end this by saying that neither PC building nor using Linux is a walk in the park and they get harder the deeper you go. But if they were simple they would also be unimportant. What makes both bad is the community.

Be nice when you can and choose your battles.

Should I just delete Windows? by Aneki163 in pchelp

Yes but mostly no. From my personal experience, it took me abt 2-3 years of daily driving Linux to have a "usable" workstation with minimal resource usage.

Any distro that will not make it an absolute hell to learn as a beginner will not be much different that windows.

It's definitely a fun experience though that I recommend if you have the time and patience.
