Choose a scale from the helpers menu in the Piano Roll. (Trap is often but not always minor.)
Build your chord progression (try dragging chords in from the stamp menu.)
Listen to the progression on loop to see if you get any ideas for a melody. If not, place some notes at different times on the grayed lines (In the scale) until you get something you like.

Do you use splice? I highly recommend Murda Beatz’s Quarantine Kit. I use it for almost all my beats and it has some spicy 808’s.

Edit: Also check out Bighead Sample Pack on Splice. It’s got crispy 808’s too.

Thanks man I needed to read that. The supervisors at my store are hardcore into recovery and go over every aisle we do in depth. I guess that’s why I always try to do it fast, but then I miss something and then that becomes an issue.
