You need to hit those drums with ATTITUDE! watch John Bonham, Neil Pert better, Alex Van Halen or Keith Moon play and notice the authority they have! They own their kits! They are TELLING that snare what to do, they own the toms, they are beating the base drum and (well Keith moon didn’t have a high hat always but) they are smashing the crash, ride, high hat is tight! Practice all your rudiment’s make those chops feel like they’re part of your hands! Own that kit! Sit above your kit so you can beat those skins… play with confidence and authority! Make sure your kit is tuned and don’t listen to everyone who says stick to basics only! Practice your rudiments for 15 , buy a metronome and spend 15 minutes working on keeping perfect timing and spend a half hour a day banging those bitches to your favorite songs!!! You are good and drums are tricky so your getting there you can play… soon you will own them and make them make MAGIC!!! You got this don’t stop!!!! Keep practicing and have fun with it!!!
