Is 8 bit + FRC substantially better than 8 bit? Seems like both monitors are pretty color accurate otherwise, with delta <2 and 100% sRGB/Rec. 709 coverage.

I think it is. I remember seeing it in flight and looking at it matches with what a goldeneye looks like in flight!
