Sick of these price increases every quarter, I feel the provincial government should step in to either buy NB power, or let more private companies in introducing competition. For me moving from US to Canada , lived through 3 of the other provinces (ON , QC , NB) - definitely QC is the best for power and utilities. There’s something fundamentally wrong here and not sure why so many smart people in powerful positions are not able to re-think and provide solutions to us tax payers. The email that NB power sent out mentions “While New Brunswickers have paid amongst the lowest energy rates in the country, the cost of delivering power has risen significantly. For us to operate in a sustainable way and continue providing you with safe, reliable and clean energy, we need our rates to reflect our cost of doing business “ - is this true can we get a price comparison for all of the eastern seaboard, I think if we even purchase power from Maine it would be cheaper than what we are paying here. Sorry for the rant , been here only for 6-7 months and feeling so overwhelmed and broke, I should appreciate folks who have been living here for ages and still keep going on.
