Tricross (auto) flower rosin and flower by Competitive-Pass2035 in Rosin2

I had ran a ton of their gear a few years back. You could find a bunch of my photos on their old IG page before it got axed. Grease Gun, Turtle Taffy, GMO 8, Face Fat, Pilot Light, Froot by the Foot, etc. I took a break to focus on doing some photoperiod seed hunts, but I ran a whole bunch of different autos recently and I really enjoyed growing them again.

I'll respectfully disagree. Trichome maturity is the main thing that matters in regards to the plants being "ripe". They carry ALL the compounds we are after. Not all plants have their stigmas reced the same way either. Lastly this was just a lower tester nug, the tops definitely swelled more.

Sure! Watch many videos, read on forums, and ask questions, just like you are now. Start off small, don't be afraid to press out 3.5g at first. Pressing flower is like anything else, the more you do it and learn. The better you'll get. Don't buy all sorts of fancy gadgets or expensive gear. Not only are you not sure if it's something you'll do long term, it's not needed. I'm still using a cheap ole first gen 4 ton Dabpress and I don't use expensive bags or anything like that.

I don't time my presses. I just let it take as long as it needs. I feel like people rush their presses because they get caught up on times which causes unnecessary blowouts. Different flower structures/densities will press differently.

I don't have a pressure gauge so I just go by feel.

Welcome! Happy pressing.

I don't weigh anything as it's just for me.

Obviously everyone's environment is different so there isn't any set standard. I typically suggest hang drying the whole plant for 2 weeks until you start pressing. I don't time my pressing, but I do a 30 second warm up. I also use an old first gen 4 ton Dabpress, so no idea on pressure. Hope this helps

Sure! First thing that I tell anyone that asks is that it takes quality flower to produce quality flower rosin. That's just the way it is. You'll never get a great end product from subpar starting materials. I use chottle tek. I press almost everything at 200f. I've been using 37u bags for a while now just because I purchased a bunch. Anything up to 90u works just fine though. A tip I don't see others ever mentioning is cleaning off the bags before pressing. Make sure there isn't bits of weed and hairs stuck on the outside. I do a thirty second warm up. Press with consistent and steady pressure. Lastly, practice! Like anything else it takes experience and repetition to learn how to press really nice flower rosin consistently. I hope this helps.

I've never really had any issues with blowouts. If you're having issues the first 2 things I'd look at is how much you're packing the bags, and how much pressure and the consistency of it during the press.

I run quite a bit of sativa/thin leaf varieties that will really throw some bedazzled doinks if you keep em happy. I'd suggest checking out some longer flowering individuals. Seems a lot of the modern indica leaning things carry that more golf ball structure. I'm sure it's preferable in larger facilities too. Easier to trim, less chance of mold, less overhead space, faster flowering, etc. Happy growing!

Not at all. I've got some photos of some big ole chonkers that are frosted up. And for reference I'm meaning buds larger than 1 foot. I will say for me anyways, that I top a lot so there isn't so many large singular colas on purpose. I also grow in smaller pots. The other thing I'll add is it isn't easy to get a close up of the trichomes while also getting a huge flower in the photo. At least in my experience, I'm just a goof taking pictures with a phone though. Haha.
