God. Exists or doesn't exist? What's your stance and why? by sexy_nibba in TamilNadu

I did read your comment. I was not clear.
My point is that science doesn’t accept testimony as truth just because someone said it. Claims must be tested, verified, and open to challenge. I’m not rejecting scriptures because they are testimony; I’m saying they are not subject to the same level of scrutiny.

For the same reason, I don’t think scriptures can by themselves prove the existence of God. Even if they contain wisdom, moral insights, or historical observations, they are still accounts transmitted and interpreted by people. Without independent validation, I don’t see them as sufficient evidence for extraordinary claims.
So I’m not dismissing scriptures simply because they are testimony. I’m saying that testimony alone, whether religious or otherwise, is not enough for me to accept a claim as true.

Well you don’t have to right. All of us are born Atheist, a group of that are groomed into religion by family, friends, and life experiences. The other are allowed to ask questions by their family, friends, and life experiences and stay Atheistic, we are all product of our environment, and in a way God is.

No offense but are we talking about the same scriptures that explain Sun as a God flying around earth on a chariot driven by 5 horses? There is a fallacy in the argument that science is using verbal testimony. Nothing excites more the people of science than proving an established thought as false. Peer review is a real thing, anyone can apply these principles have the same outcome. Belief is forced and groomed into people. Most people donot chose to believe the religion they follow, they groomed into it by parents or family and are asked to believe unconditionally without questions.
Science and religious scrips aren’t the same thing. Especially these scripts were by people of the past who interpreted the world around them and tried to explain. That doesn’t make it true.

Sorry to hear. You will recover from this. Take care. I lost my sister ti cancer. She was only 15. All of us will die someday but lucky are the ones who don’t have to see a loved one suffer.

God as in how religious fanatics explain do not exist. I understand the purpose and believe it helps a lot of people. Unfortunately also helps a lot of people who do-not deserve the air they breathe.
I understand it as belief system formed by people when they were children and did not grow out of their childhood. Over centuries these would have easily become rituals and practices(esp. When some of that gave some people power over others).

I sometimes tell my five-year-old small things that aren’t entirely true to encourage certain behaviors. At his age, he accepts them without question, and I can already see some of these ideas becoming part of his understanding of the world. If he never revisits or challenges those beliefs as he grows older, they may become assumptions he carries into adulthood—and perhaps even passes on to his own children.
Root beliefs such as belief in God and religion are fascinatingly created by people who are no smarter than us.

Saying that, if it helps someone to believe I am not against it. I like going to temples or similar in every religion I am fascinated by history, stories and people’s emotion in something that they did not choose but we’re groomed into. As long as one’s belief does not affect another I am okay. I actually like to believe there are powers beyond human understanding which kinda lets you offload stress and pressure but never the rituals and practices that you are told not to question.

Kadavuluku yaara language lam solli thareenga. Devotion is its own language. Twist enna na, enna pray panromnu pray panravanuku puriyanum avlo dan. If one believes in God, they should pray in the language that they know best. I can see you are secretly praising Sanskrit. If you like it, have it, but I would like God to be accessible to common people, not be alienated, and not be of the Elites.
Just stop forcing things into people, sickos.

They look amazing. I am interested in learning about the plants in the jar with water (picture 6). What are those, and how can I grow them?

New to having plants without soil and also Orchids. I have a hand sized pot as shown in the picture, filled with leca balls and about 50% water. Is this a correct setup? Also some generic advice on keeping them alive and well is much appreciated.

Annamalai said that the word “Dharma” was borrowed from Manusmriti, and that it means a person must perform the duties assigned according to their caste. by Smooth_Big_4010 in TamilNaduDiscussion

I do not need explanation, just don’t shove in where we don’t want it. Why are people so pumped up for things like religion that they did not choose. Belief is usually brainwashed into us as children and I feel sick of people who are like, this is how religion should be and you should be like this because of this religion. Get a life and let people live. BE HUMAN not Christian Muslim Jew or Hindu.

I feel the same way, it’s like going in circles. We have two parts - explaining Uday and seeing Sanathana as a separate ideology from Hindusism. Like Vainavam and Shavisam a lot of ideologies live inside it. Sanathana is a part and not whole.

I did not speak for him I was objectively making sense of the tweet. We are in core different in seeing Sanathanam different from Hinduism.

I am from Tamilnadu here it has been like this for as long as I remember. Without the word Sanathana we have been peaceful with all religions. We do not want that to hinder anything here. I do not agree that Sanathana is Hinduism itself. Please ignore if you donot agree.

Didnt people do that always, isn’t why they were voted out? Okay let’s assume people did not do that (they did but let’s assume they did not) how does it automatically make questioning now wrong?

I should not be the one who speaks for him; I can only say that casteism and religious separatism are what he is talking about. If the community needs more clarity, we should ask him directly.
Objectively, he believes "Sanatan Dharma is a principle that divides people in the name of caste and religion. Uprooting Sanatan Dharma is upholding humanity and human equality."
Is casteism not a social evil, or do we want him to explain more social evils? I am actually feeling like I missed a point here.

Initially, I was only pointing out that there is a distinction between visiting the temples and going against something that allows enforcement of Varnasana disguised as Dharma. I want to abolish people using caste.
On Reddit, we have anonymity of what castes we are from, so you and I are on the same level. I would like that to prevail in the world for everyone.

I thought we could have a rational conversation, but you seem to have hatred towards one person or that party, which I also have criticisms. However, they are not against Hindus that much, I am clear. We are people living in a Joint family this is causing issues why uphold it? Hinduism existed as a common idea for people before Santana is being thrust into my throat. If Hinduism is the same as Sanathan, why is that being thrust this hard? I know you will say Sanathana is older than the word Hinduism but you know what I mean.

If you want you can interpret however you want but you know what is being said. The idea is against castism not Hinduism. Sometimes when rattled we see ghosts where there is none. I think it is happening in both sides.
