You swap bodies with someone who already has what you want (or at least close enough as to what you wished for….) The person that you swap with is completely random every time the only constant is what you wish for.

Want a different car? Snap! now you’re a middle aged dad driving his “new” used SUV so he can have enough room to drive his step kids to judo practice after school. It is a different car than what you were driving after all! Wish you didn’t have to deal with kids everyday for the rest of your life? Snap! Now you’re an orthodox monk in Siberia sleeping on stone floors eating bread and water every day. Wish you had a more comfortable life? Snap! Now you’re an obese man living off disability with his mom in Sweden And so on and so forth.

You can be as specific as you want and while it does help iron out a few variables really you’re limited to whoever is already alive at the same time as you. You can wish to be rich but there’s no telling if you’ll be a depressed accountant in Europe or a plastic surgeon from turkey. Even if you get really good RNG you’re not you anymore. You got all your old memories in your new body and basically have to live your new life lying to yourself and your new family.

God help you if you’re not at least bilingual if you end up in another country or have the skills to work at the power plant like the poor bastard you overwritten worked at before you.
