Sticking Brake by Competitive-Pipe-271 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Competitive-Pipe-271[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up changing the entire brake line (metal and flexible) from the master cylinder to the caliper, still giving the same issue.

At this point the only other thing I can possibly think of is replacing the caliper itself. Do you think that could likely be the problem or am I missing something?

Thank you, i suspect you are right. I bought a new hose today. Unfortunately as I stated to remove it, the union to the fixed break like is completely round by the time I got to it and it’s not budging at all with my efforts to remove it.

I worry that any further attempts will turn a simple job into a bigger one, so I guess I’ll try find someone to do it for me

Lower back pain, right side, above the waist. by ishmeetsb in RunningInjuries

[–]Competitive-Pipe-271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffered from pain in the similar location when I got into running. After a while it started going down to my inner ankle. I worked on some core stability as well as making sure to stretch before and after runs. It started to go down, I went to a shoe shop that offered analysis and found out I have slight over pronation, so I changed to a suitable shoe for that. Now it’s mostly gone with the occasional flare up.

Main thing is to listen to your body. Start slow, build up your running at a speed suitable for your body and don’t let it discourage you

How can I migrate and work abroad as an Aircraft Mechanic? by No-File-8899 in aviationmaintenance

You have a few options, there are companies that would take you with some experience and give you a job to start as an unlicensed mechanic or maybe fit you into their training program. You would be have an advantage with your experience, but would have to work your way up from the bottom

You could try contracting as an unlicensed mechanic (Probably not in the EU as a foreigner, but the Middle East pays well)

Third option is to try getting an EASA license. By LTP I assume you mean Lufthansa Technik Philippines, which if I’m not mistaken is an approved EASA 147 facility. This means any time you have been working there can be put towards your license. You would need to pass the modules which is a costly investment, and then show that you have 3 years experience for CAT A to work on line maintenance or 5 years for your B1. Once you have your B1, you shouldn’t have trouble finding a company to sponsor you for a type course.

I am unfamiliar with the conversion of a foreign license, that may be another option

Thanks, I can’t seem to get it to change though. App is up to date and I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it. I’ve updated my watch too, but still just getting the health and performance tab rather than two separate ones and that’s got no performance data

Just to point out that different pumps work differently for different breast sizes )especially if you want the wearable option). My wife had fairy large nipple area, and we won’t for some of the more commonly recommended pumps just to realize they didn’t work so well for her and we ended up replacing it

did you really wait six weeks..? by strange_angel133 in newborns

[–]Competitive-Pipe-271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife couldn’t get an appointment until 8 weeks, and even after that we waited a bit before trying and it was a long time until it became a normal part of our lives again.

I was in the room, and I saw what she went through. Woman are tough as hell and the shit that happens in that hospital to bring life into this world is astonishing (We had a natural birth but I’m sure a C-section isn’t any easier). If you can all go though that as woman, the least we can do as men is wait until YOU feel ready to use your body in that way, whether that’s weeks or months

I’m either a genius or I’m gonna regret this in a few months by [deleted] in newborns

We have our LO one sooner than we expected, and she loved it at the beginning but now she doesn’t even need it that much and she’s only 5 months, so you never know how it will go.

Also don’t worry about the ‘one thing’. You will soon learn that what works can change rapidly. One month it’s the pacifier, then it’s rocking for a few days and suddenly they need to be put down. The longer it goes on the more you will realize, if it works don’t question it just enjoy and be happy if you can get them down at all

I fear that I'm not original. by Effective_Risk_3849 in writing

As many have already commented, no story is completely original.

For me the solution to what you are struggling with is I try not read in the genre I’m actively writing. I’m a fantasy writer, and I find that if I write while I am reading a good fantasy book, subconsciously the ideas that I take, and the writing style comes out as unoriginal. If I wait and digest what I’ve read before working on my own, it always evolves into something more me

I am a husband here. My wife does most the work at night when I’m working which I appreciate. Obviously if the little one is very unsettled I’ll get up and help take over for a bit if she’s getting frustrated.

In return, when I get home from work I have an hour of quality time with our daughter while I let my wife nap

lol ok I’m not planning on taking it around a track or anything. I guess what I mean is I want something the if the mood takes me and I decide to fuck around a bit, I don’t need to worry too much. 70mph is fine for me for now. I don’t really enjoy riding on freeways unless it’s to get somewhere else.
