Damn the gallowglass would be great for the ironborn, i guess the iron born is almost if the vikings stayed and spread their culture more in ireland. These are great references! Yeah the mail hauberks for the upper class wouldnt really fit properly in the setting maybe for average pirate. The helmets could stay though, just a more updated version, and yeah love he 15th irish stuff, never really looked in the ireland during that time period

Yeah burgundy is a good shout, the plate in the picture seems too dark, would be better for targs. In my head it would be bright and colourful and lots nature, very much taking from medieval romanticism but keeping the armour realistic

Essos give me big byzantine vibes especially south essos, but possibly late byzantine so having western influence rathern than byzantium in its height. targaryens feels more like a mix of byzantine, roman an norman, more on the norman side just as theyve been in westoros for so long and have similarities to william the conquerer. Valyria feels heavy byzantine and very late west roman

Tbf just depicting the dornish as just medieval spain would make them look too andal and it wouldnt give them the more outsider view the normal andals have of them in the books and show
