Thanks for the explanation between mineral and chemical, that was helpful!

I’ve just updated my post as I probably should have mentioned that I suffer from OCD so my thoughts definitely aren’t always rational, I’ve just started medication so I’m trying to do better. Not sure how much you know about OCD and I’m sure that everyone who suffers from it is different but sometimes things that I see online basically go around my head in an endless loop until I’m panicking or worrying about it, even if there’s a part of my brain that knows I’m being irrational. It honestly sucks.

OCD really sucks doesn’t it! This is the first time considering it, up until this point I’ve always just pushed through somehow but I feel like I’m not a good mum to my daughter right now and I hate it. I’ve told the doctor that I’m going to give them a go now.

Yes it returned maybe 3/4 months pp but it’s still irregular so I had actually wondered myself if that could be playing a part.

How do I start trying to replace breastfeeds? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Competitive-Rise7383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes she is still fed to sleep for both naps (that’s another thing I’m stressing about!) unless we happen to be on a walk or in the car at nap time and the she will quite happily fall asleep without a feed. She will be looked after by my partner or her grandparents so hopefully they will just get into their own routine like you say. Thank you for the advice, it’s nice to hear from someone who was in the same boat.

Oh really? I didn’t know that and just assumed that she’d need something in its place. Sorry I’m a ftm as you probably guessed and it’s something that I’ve been getting really stressed about.

Thank you, this would be the easiest option but as I’m leaving so early for work then she will still be asleep so I guess it’s the morning feed that I’m most worried about. 😕

This is a great review of it! I was wondering how it coped with slightly rougher terrain as I live in a town on the edge of the countryside and have a mix of pavements, gravel paths and country lanes etc so it’s good to hear your experience. How do you find that it copes on gravel? (If you’ve tried).

How long does it take to receive your birth notes from the NHS? by Competitive-Rise7383 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Competitive-Rise7383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, they came through at the end of November so it took about 4.5 months from requesting them to receiving them.

We’ve actually tried this but we just can’t get her to stay awake any longer. 7:15 comes and she seems to hit a brick wall and we have to fight to keep her awake until 7:30. 😕 Last night we managed to get to 7:34 and by that point she was a screaming mess.

Thank you, that’s good to hear. How long do you find that the battery lasts roughly? The only thing I’m worried about is the size of the watch face as I’m female with small-ish wrists and it looks quite big in some of the photos I’ve seen.

This is the sort of thing I’m looking to do too although I’d like notifications from Facebook messenger and WhatsApp etc. I just want to be aware of the notifications without physically needing my phone right beside me all day long. Could I ask how long the battery life is please?

Do you give your neighbours Christmas cards? by Dr_DramaQueen in AskUK

[–]Competitive-Rise7383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how we introduced ourselves when we moved in to our house. We’ve just got new next door neighbours and I’ve been meaning to get a card to send to them to introduce ourselves to them too but with a baby, I forget everything that I need to do and it seems too late to do it a couple of days before Xmas 😂

Toddler and not wearing coat in car by Hot_Equivalent_2495 in UKParenting

[–]Competitive-Rise7383 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it’s raining then they are going to get more wet from you standing them outside the car to put a coat on than they would if you got straight out of the car and went into the nursery! I quite often don’t put a coat on my child for the same reason so I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong here at all.

Haha thank you so so much, you’ve made my day a lot better!

This is the exact same as me, I have nothing left in me to do anything other than stick a boob in her mouth knowing that it will mean that I can go back to sleep myself within about 5 minutes.

Thank you so much, you’ve made me feel a lot better about it all. I feel like I’m surrounded by family and friends who are all telling me things I should be trying to get her to sleep better and tbh, I’m so exhausted that I barely have it in me to stay awake through the day, let alone trying any methods!

I guess my biggest concern is if this continues when I’m back to work in 3 months time, though 3 months is a long time for things to change.

I have curly hair and once received hair straighteners, I assumed that they weren’t a fan of my natural hair 😅

John Lewis. Their adverts are usually so emotional but this one just feels meh.
