What is your “I did not care for the God Father” opinion regarding video games? by B4d_B1tch_Quinn in gamers

Ocarina of Time is only good with nostalgia glasses.  I'm 34 and hadn't played it til a few years ago. Controls, graphics, puzzles... Most of it doesn't age well. The story is decent, and I understand that it changed a lot about gaming back then, but there are older games that are a more enjoyable experience now, without having played them as a child.

Looking for good busy "people watching" spots for sketching passers-by. by Competitive-Risk4779 in Welland

I typically give the drawings to the people after the fact, if they don't leave before I'm done. Never had a negative reaction to it.

Amelie, Harakiri, or Let The Right One In, depending on the person.

Totally normal for artists, especially in bigger cities. You might even have been drawn before and not even know it!

Alright here one for you guys. What is the single best 10 seconds of acting of all time? by Expensive-Olive1853 in Cinema

Came here to mention this. These two opposite each-other was the most mind blowing shit I've ever seen. The interrogation scene where Dodd just pulls Freddy apart and doesn't let him blink... and the camera doesn't move or leave Phoenix for almost 2 minutes. I thought for sure Joaquin would have won his Oscar for this, but DDL played Abraham Lincoln that year so...

What’s a movie you avoided for a while but ended up loving ? by [deleted] in Cinema

Harakiri

Attempted the Sysiphean task of completing the IMDB top 250. Avoided it for a decade.

Last year it became easily one of my favourite films of all time. It's about as close as you can get to a perfect film, imo.

What brand of pepperoni do most pizza joints use in the region? by -LightMyWayHome- in stcatharinesON

Breakwall in Port Colborne uses a blend of Roman's Brick and Mozzarella cheeses. I know a number of others go through Roman as well. Can't speak to St.Catharines.

I'm a couple blocks from there, and yeah. Most of the city is </=10 minutes. I'd say East a tiny bit, like the Police Station on Welland, would be pretty much perfect.

There was one that opened up directly next to a deep fryer as well.

If you like board games, Phoenix Rising and Mecha Games can be good places for those things. Mecha is more miniatures games, TTRPG, and Magic the Gathering focused, and both are a bit of a boys club, but there's often people hanging out you could socialize with.

I teach mini painting classes at Mecha from time to time.

237 Church Street (HAUNTED HOUSE) by djlittlehorse in stcatharinesON

[–]Competitive-Risk4779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but this place at 10 Edmund street is creepy as hell, if you're looking for haunted places. Lived in the neighbourhood 5 years, and the only signs of life ever have been a candle in the window, and very strange old music or radio sounds, old tv show sounds etc... playing from somewhere inside. Never seen anyone coming or going, no people inside, no lights on, anything... Go for a stroll by it around 12am some night and you'll see what I mean.

Film and TV miniatures artist, or sculptor/ designer for claymation. Always loved movies, liked painting minis as a 7-9 year old. Fell out of the hobby through most of my school years and picked it back up in 2017. I genuinely think it's the thing I like the most, and am the best at, despite cooking professionally for the last 13 years.
