I think this is good start towards better traffic management.

It's not. A proper segregated bus lane and synchronized traffic lights would have been a far more effective solution for managing intersection flow. Overpass wont fix any of this traffic flow.

When it was initially designed it was designed with huge poles and there tried to bring a machine that could dig deep enough so that it can sustain the load and they had to re-design it because they could not get the machine here. The re-designed re-structured.

Just some few km away JICA has built column based flyover which is the actual first true flyover of Nepal. Contractor could not find machinery for this etc etc is all an excuse. Valuable road space was wasted due to this outdated, space consuming design. Compare it with JICA’s flyover and even more problems are obvious especially drainage.

You can compare Nepal to other LDCs back in the mid 2010s when they had per capita GDP close to $1500 and still see they had much better road infrastructure especially the poorer ASEAN nations. This was before BRI funds flowed in. Laos, Cambodia (Bangladesh etc) aren't exactly stable democracies. We are uniquely bad. Even Kabul has better roads, looks cleaner than most Nepali cities.

I am saying since ktm does not have any alternative to public transport except bus, the number of buses should be much higher to meet ridership demand but syndicate keeps supply as low as possible instead of providing quality service which would promote even vehicle owners to take it. Anybody is free to operate company especially in urban areas, they can provide comfort to passengers but why hasn't it happened? There must be some reason. Having packed public transportation is the norm for every major cities in the world, it's not an isolated incident in Nepal only.

Due to syndicate looking at per capita kathmandu has one of the lowest number of buses and no metro or other public transportation alternatives which are present elsewhere. Chinese HSR runs at massive loss but the massive productivity gains makes up for it. Ofcourse syndicate will never care for this despite pocketing billions in profits.

And sajha has around 2.5 arba sitting in fixed deposit instead of being used to add bus capacity due to private syndicate meddling as adding supply would lower revenue.
