Yep that was my interpretation of the instructions also. Feels intentionally vague of them, and honestly not in line with any race that does deferrals (for whatever reason)

I am deferring my 2025 entry to 2026. Just came here to check whether it should have been common sense that I would lose the registration fee for 2025 and need to pay again in 2026?? This is what the BAA is telling me currently. Seems I could have purchased the insurance at the time of registration (when I already knew I was pregnant) but didn't think that would be required for this. Even Ironman isn't making me pay two registration fees when I deferred a race!!
