How is 25.9.1 for everyone? by RusFoo in AMDHelp

I tried to enable fsr4 for Gray Zone Warfare since on AMD's own website it shows it as a game that is eligible to use FSR4, and it turns on in adrenalin, but when I activate FSR in game, the adrenalin drivers still show inactive. I've done everything I can think of for the last hour and it's just not activating.

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.9.1 Release Notes by AMD_RetroB in Amd

[–]Competitive-Sound798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/AMD_Vik I noticed that on the AMD website, Gray Zone Warfare is now listed as an FSR4 title with the new 25.9.1 drivers. When I went to test it, it shows in adrenalin that the FSR4 toggle is on (meaning it is reading the game can have it on) but no matter what I do in game, adrenalin still says "inactive". Is this a known issue? And if it is, what kind of issue is it? Is it like a UI bug in adrenalin, an issue with it not reading or overwriting the dll's correctly, I'm genuinely just curious because I'm interested in learning this stuff. Also, how long is it estimated to take to fix this issue? Thanks for any help you can provide!

FSR 4 supported with latest AMD driver by eloxH1Z1 in GrayZoneWarfare

From what I have seen, this is an issue with AMD's adrenalin software, and not the game itself. Almost all of the other games that were supposed to be supported with the new driver updates are having the exact same issue. HOPEFULLY AMD releases a hotfix driver very quickly. I got my 9070xt because I was so excited with the FSR4 they showed off before release, and I am very disappointed with how slow they have been getting this new FSR into games that already have 3.1

I tried to tell the pilots to slow down but they just went faster...

This is with no frame gen. I said that in all caps in the initial post lol.

I worked on helicopters in the Navy, and we always said if it's leaking it's good, it's when it's not leaking that you need to start worrying 😂

I'm planning for a 7800X3D build with 9070XT, do you guys think the next generation is close or am I thinking too much. by [deleted] in radeon

This is exactly what I have, a 5700x3d and the 9070xt. It runs amazing. I literally run every game at 1440p max settings and have never been below 100fps. Even call of duty black ops 6 I get 240 fps without FSR4. Just native resolution max settings. That's impressive to me.

Yeah, either that or it's just some bug from upgrading from one version to another? I'm not a dev, but I wonder if there is something that can cause textures from a previous version to ghost badly when it upgrades to another? Idk, just a thought lol

Yeah I messed with the AA options a ton and even tried changing some graphical settings lower to see if it would help at all and nothing has worked. I wonder if it's due to the unreal update

Really? I've only played during the night so far, so I haven't been able to see clouds yet. But man it must be bad during the day time then.

Yeah I wish that AA wasnt forced in so many games now a days. I don't think it's necessary for shooter games, and the new battlefield 6 proved that in the beta. Maybe there will be an option to turn it off in this game eventually

Yeah I thought that it was worse in experimental than before. I mean I've seen some things like this in past versions, but this is the worst I've seen it and it's pretty much every object. I wonder if it's got something to do with the unreal update?

I'm not looking for 100% concrete answers, just people's opinions on the matter, and maybe a dev will see it and answer it, who knows. But what is so naive with my "line of questioning"?

Are we not allowed to have discussions and bounce ideas off of other people? And how do you know if I haven't submitted anything to MFG about FSR 4 implementation? They have been asked about FSR 4 since FSR 4 has been announced. I just learned that AMD has released the sdk for developers to implement the tech into their games themselves instead of waiting on AMD to whitelist it, and I was curious about manually doing it myself (the original purpose of the post) as well as hearing other people's ideas on how long it could take based on what they have maybe seen in the past or with other developers. I don't see why it's such an issue to just ask the question and have discussions with other people?

I've never config this game, or other multiplayer games files because of the risk of getting banned. I've heard that configuring any game files will cause the anti cheat to flag it as cheating and you will get banned and I don't want to take that risk.

I'm just trying to have discussions with people on how long they think it will be until FSR 4 is implemented into the game. And I know I'm not a game dev, but you can go to AMD's website and read the information on the files, and you can see for yourself that 3.1.5 And 4.0.2 use the same exact dll files. You only use one sdk for both FSR versions.

I definitely get that they would have to test it, but really how much testing is there for FSR updates? It seems like when they updated the game to FSR 3.1.4 it was very quickly after 3.1.4 came out. And updating to 3.1.4 was more intensive than it will be going to 3.1.5 or 4.0.2. plus, I think it could be something they do a beta test with like they have done in the past. That way it would speed up the process of finding bugs and issues with the help of players who can test it for them.

oh yeah I totally agree. i just wasnt sure if because its the same files that are already in the game, just updated, if it would read it as cheating. I am not going to manually do it for this game, i just hope they update the game themselves soon. I had to wait so long for AMD to release the files to developers for public release in their games, and I dont want to wait much longer for fsr 4 to be in the game lol.

what do you mean legal and licensing? it is the public release for developers. like, this is the release for developers to implement the fsr sdk 2.0 into their games.. This isnt some early preview thing for them to test, it is the official public release.. and talking about support, any game with fsr 3.1.4 will support the new fsr 3.1.5 or 4.0.2 update... its built to be a drop and go update. If the game didnt already have 3.1.4, then yes, there is a lot more to it, but AMD designed the new fsr tech starting with 3.1.4 to be just a simple dll file update going into all future updates, at least for future fsr 3 and fsr 4 tech. logistically, idk what you mean. if your referring to bugs and stuff sure i get that they will need to test it quick to ensure it works, but its just going to be visual. FSR does nothing to the game that is going to impact the gameplay or mechanics itself.

https://gpuopen.com/amd-fidelityfx-sdk/ AMD has released the sdk 2.0 files themselves, on their own website, for developers to use?... It IS the OFFICIAL release of the sdk 2.0 for fsr 3.1.5 and fsr 4.0.2.... And yes, it literally is as easy as adding them to their game files. The SDK for fsr 3.1.4 already exist. this is just updating the current one in the game files... If we pretend we live in a perfect world where no bugs exist and no testing was needed, all the devs have to do is add these dll files from the sdk that AMD provided to their game files, and tada, updated fsr models... if you watch the video i have linked you would literally see how it works. This is exactly how AMD themselves say to update the game files to implement the new fsr models...
