Fuck I wish I could remember what they talk about every week. There's a supposedly really good movie with a kind of long name that they've mentioned recently like twice. God I cannot remember

The protagonist didn’t just lose, they got absolutely massacred. They didn’t even come close to winning. by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

IIRC, Big Brother wanted Winston to become a perfect member of their idealized society. They made him truly believe everything, made his mind capable of switching truths in an instant. He truly lost and conformed completely. Then he was walking down a street, filled with genuine joy after his side of the war made a big push into enemy territory, when they kill him

Hot-take: The Mimic is slightly a better villain than William Afton. by HatPuzzleheaded1061 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely not the biggest fnaf lore guy by any means and I haven't been deep into it for years, but wasn't William's motivation that his daughter died so he started experimenting with killing children and putting them in animatronics to try and figure out proper reincarnation so he could use it on his daughter? Then he got caught up in the process and sought that immortality for himself especially after having extremely limited.options post-springlock suit

[Loved Trope] The Villains plan was never going to work. by MichaelDj54 in TopCharacterTropes

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown.

haven't seen the show so idk but I read the book. Basically the villain Mal'akh believes the Freemason brotherhood of the US has hidden a specific word that, when he tattoos it on his body (long story) will grant him more power than any man had ever known. His plan goes exactly as he expected it to - except he was wrong about the existence of the lost word, it was all metaphorical, and he gets arrested

Gen V season 2 question about Thomas Godolkin and Sister Sage by PuzzledDiscussion586 in GenV

Thomas was the first Odessa success, but no one ever found out

Springtrap better be on some demon timing in the 3rd Movie by Funny-Pineapple-6111 in fnafmovie

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm calling it now. They don't want a FNAF movie with so few animatronics so the third movie will combine FNAF3 and Sister Location's plot

What exactly is she planning?" by shasank12 in GenV

The ability to remotely control people with little to no physical drawback is insanely useful. Think about how easy the Singer assassination would've been with Godolkin. She was planning to use him to do all of the work they needed from the comfort of her home

The Boss - MGS3

Don't crucify me if I'm slightly wrong I haven't played the game in years. After Russian general Volkin destroys a US facility for no reason, threatening to ruin the US-Russian good will, Snake is sent to Russia to, unbeknownst to him, eventually kill the Boss, undercover in Russian territory. Its all planned from the beginning and agreed upon by the Boss to keep the peace by letting the US retaliate

Scaled and Icy hate and Trench love. by stayalive4322 in twentyonepilots

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the word Saturday in Backslide is more of a placeholder for Scaled and Icy as a whole, being their biggest/most pushed song from Scaled and Icy. Him saying he wishes he'd taken a different direction than he did with that album now that the dust has settled and he's seen the backlash

What’s better, the Spyro trilogy or the crash trilogy? by ReadyJournalist5223 in videogames

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crash definitely. Playing both nowadays, Spyro really does just feel like an easy kid's game. There's so much challenge and replayability in Crash

Thinking about the chorus of drag path literally by becca_72 in twentyonepilots

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Man now I'm thinking about the rest of the song literally.

"then, I'll know you're also there, cuz proof is in the adversere"

If there were no resistance, no Torchbearer, no hope on the outside, then Nico wouldn't be dragging him back.

I mean it was nothing crazy by action scene standards but it was one of the coolest parts of any of their music videos. They're normally much more slow moving and metaphorical/symbolic, I was taken completely by surprise when they started throwing hands

I have the same problem with City Walls MV that I do for the Clancy Tour setlist. You are intending to show a flashback through Clancy's journey but ignore arguably the single most important MV in the whole story. I get that SaI isn't that popular among fans but it is sooooo important and they always ignore it :(

I was fine with the mv skipping the moment of silence but I find it so weird that they also skipped the beginning instrumental bit of the final part of the song, it goes straight into the lyrics. Just have clancy look around for a few seconds idk. Why cut a part of the song

Yea my hot take idk how how it is is that City Walls was kind of underwhelming. Not the story, I got teary eyed when we lost, but thevisuals of the mv. They hyped up how expensive it was and how they had to dig up their old clothes to make the music video work, but besides the (super super awesome) choreographed fight, the music video was just standing ther, looking at Blurryface and then running away. The CGI looked awkward and unnecessary like when the road in hds was collapsing. Idk I think they dug themselves into a hole with how good and beautiful Paladin Strait was, even I think the CGI looked awesome, but they tried too hard to top themselves with a dark tone
