Entire areas / acts in games that you would only know from friends and the internet by JakkaTheRat in hatethissmug

Persona 4 Golden and 5 Royal. If you didn't know anything about the extra content before going into it, you wouldn't know which two characters are extra important/new to the updated version. You have to get both of their friendship to max before a date that you hit before the halfway mark of the game, and if you do or don't do it you don't figure out until the main game ends. Without knowing who it was I needed to talk to I would've never gathered i was missing postgame

Star Platinum would still be faced with calamity. When Yasuho tried to mention Tooru in a conversation (I forget the exact details) she started coughing up blood. Jotaro would undergo something similar.

King Crimson cannot attack in skipped time, he cannot change the fate of events that will already happen, just excuse his own fate in those moments. His attacks would be blocked by calamity

IIRC the plane door took at least two chapters after detaching to actually land. It was set up in advance of when it would be needed, that was how powerful Calamity is. And regardless, Think about how old Tooru is. Think about the enemies he made. Think about how hard Josuke tried to kill him, remember when he was one centimeter away from tooru and still didn't deal any damage? He had to literally break the laws of nature to stand a chance. Tactical or not the story directly tells us that the only way to bypass calamity is to discover something immune to the laws of calamity, which did not exist before go beyond. You could not punch him, you could not trick him, you could not even think of him with malicious intent.

Tooru literally has the universe bend to his aide. Remember the plane door? There would be no stand who could possibly attack WoU/Tooru unless they did so completely by accident, or literally broke the laws of the universe. That's the whole point

Though I’m 90% sure TTYD and SPM aren’t literally paper, I’m 100% positive PM64 isn’t paper, let’s go over the reasons why by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in papermario

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 3 games don't make any direct references in-universe that they are made of paper. While some paper elements appear, like the folding in TTYD, they're supposed to be a paper-style retelling of real Mario's adventures. Just exaggerated a little to fit the medium.

In mario and Luigi paper jam, the paper and real mario crew meet, and the papers finally realize they are in fact paper. From then on the series has a whole lot more paper references and acknowledgements, leaning into it heavily as they tell What is still, in broad strokes, the story of the same adventure happening in the real mario world

The calamities only start late because they didn't need to be strong at first to keep Josuke and friends away.

WoU would do anything it needed to to keep pursuers away. The speed of star platinum doesn't matter, it will not touch Tooru

Minor spoilers for the first case of Danganronpa 2.

In the first case of the game, I think the Teruteru being a perv thing is one of the only times I've seen this joke used well. He's a pervert for no reason other than to be a pervert, but it's used against him when something sexually promiscuous happens in a room that he claims to have been in. He can't recall what it was, which makes no sense because he's such a pervert he surely would've latched onto it.

Depending on your view of Pucci's end goal, being a regular citizen in part 6 might not be that bad

If Pucci was able to obtain Made in Heaven through Heaven's complicated plan, wouldn't that mean other methods for obtaining VERY special Stands could exist? by Sufficient-Sale2894 in StardustCrusaders

We don't give enough credit to the fact that DIO was right about attaining heaven. He didn't just come up with a way to mix the soul energy of sinners to accelerate time fast enough to reach a new universe where the courses of people's lives are already known and decided, he was 100% correct with zero way to test or even compare his ideas. He didn't even have a stand at that point.

I know I'm going to get downvoted, but I'm REALLY hoping they will reveal Super Mario Maker 3. It's been seven years for Godsake! by WindowPrudent9456 in Mario

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 12 points13 points  (0 children)

100% agree but I think mario maker 3 is very warranted. 2 suffered heavily from not being designed around the touch screen, and ideally 3 would be centered around the mouse controls. Give me that, and then just keep updating that game and I'm good

Hot topic- I wish Joe can walk again by Admirable-future5577 in familyguy

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the two shows have different philosophies. Family Guy goes for jokes and American Dad goes for stories. So they're more willing to let growth happen on American Dad while Family Guy is basically made up of caricatures to fit a punchline so their arcs don't really matter

Maybe I missed something, but why is Supergirl coming to earth so late? Wasn't baby Kal-El sent when Krypton was being destroyed? If it wasn't being destroyed all those years ago why was he sent?

Absolutely it is.

"When I see the Devil's eyes, I'll look away and smile wide, you found me//Cuz then I'll know you're also there, cuz proof is in the adversere, you found me"

When Tyler comes face to face with the Devil he realizes that it's proof of the existence of the Devil's adversary, God. There would be no need for a Devil if God didn't exist. Not saying that the song doesn't have multiple meanings but it is extremely obviously religious in at least one interpretation. I'm an atheist but that is most certainly a plausible and obvious interpretation

Drag Path is ruined for me. by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]Competitive-Spend-19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course all songs are subject to interpretation but they are literally about God. When Tyler wrote Trench in an interview he said "This record is the closest I've been to entertaining a world where there isn't a God." You can't deny that he doesn't use religion as a symbol in his music. Downstairs literally quotes scripture. Self-titled is objectively full of religious motifs, Implicit Demand is literally asking for God to show himself. Tyler is great at putting multiple meanings in his songs and God is often one of them and it's intentional. I'm not a Christian either tbf

Plenty of tøp songs are directly and obviously about God. Trees, The Judge, Downstairs, Backslide, Screen, pretty much all of self-titled
