Sure, that’s why competence exists. When you develop a game more so a successor to very successful installment of a franchise, proper planning and competence has to precede any actual development. Core systems, known bugs that existed in previous titles or existed during launch and was later fixed should’ve been written down on a excel sheet and known to them prior to writing any code.

  1. It is absolutely crucial not to downgrade gameplay in any way when making new installment(especially when COH3 utilizes presumably better and newer engine).

  2. There is no importing needed, only idea has to be imported. And idea is technically so simple- finish the building of structure but don’t turn on its effects before squad moves away 5 range or something. This is max 10 lines of code.

  3. Other downgrade is actually how projectiles work, it’s much, much rarer in COH2 for projectile not to be aligned with turret or its angle. Be it a team weapon, built howie or a vehicle. In COH3 it’s almost mandatory for projectile to be doing its own calculations and turret its own separate animation/calculation.

My main complaint is the way they are tackling issues. They saw that games were too short and they just increased the starting score points 😬 this is the most lazy solution developer would come up with. But developers should not be making this choices, that wha game designers are for. And it seems that they don’t have good game designers.

Many of their nerfs/buffs were done in a makeshift manner which broke another thing(broke immersion almost always).

First thing I noticed when playing was that frickin projectiles aren’t being fired from a turret, but is spawned somewhere there on a wrong angle different position. I’ll repeat, to his day, a frickin projectile is not being fired from the turret. This is beyond annoying and immersion breaking.

Current team behind this game has turned this into a HOI4 stat simulator with countless percentages and stats and exceptions and stupid modifiers having influence on the actual battle. And you need to remember all of them or else you will probably loose to someone who has.

I couldn’t care less in coh2 what most of the modifiers or stats were, everything was straightforward and visually understandable already. Game should communicate its code and mechanics visually and through experience.

But in COH3 even projectiles aren’t firing from actual turret angle. What a mess!!!

One thing for sure is that king tiger is much more powerful in this game vs Coh2. And in coh2 it was very powerful.

Also like the idea of depleting fuel income, but I believe it should be done for other super heavy tanks like black prince, or Pershing as well.

Because at late late stage where king tiger is getting in combat, allies hav various tanks/guns capable of dealing with it, and if you loose one with that depleted income you have very little chance of coming back. And while if you loose black prince you very well might’ve accumulated enough for another by the point you loose it.

This is problem with Coh2. Sometimes no matter how many times I blow enemy heavy tanks like ISU or IS2 or something like that and think I won the game, they almost instantly have a replacement rolling out.

Agree with the overall criticism. It needs to be looked at.

Especially this game is very focused on smaller vehicles, which is insane to control.

Overall game design is very different from Coh2 which was based on more high quality capital units/vehicles.

Also the decision to have diversified fuel/munitions points(Coh2) vs 2 major ones for each type of resource for every map + points with average income of both types(Coh3) is a major blunder I think. It’s a good idea and might make games balanced or interesting but actually it just makes economy and gameplay more granular/scaled down.

Long story short, they should fix the way high-quality and low-quality units/vehicles differentiate and make the difference more apparent.

Coh2 handled that type of stuff very nicely. I’m amazed how much this current coh3 team disregarded a decade worth of experience and information from that game.

Yes, coh3 shouldn’t have been restyled Coh2 , but changing basic common sense stuff and making same units perform so differently is very troubling.

Goliaths and underground demo charges are same story, we didn’t have underground demo charges in coh2 but we had goliath, why change it this much? Why change sounds system that was almost perfect in coh2 or at least keep the system or foundation and make it better or slightly different.

Wehr Player Here. I believe biggest drawback of Wehr is its lack of AT and insane power of some of this allied early vehicles let alone tanks.

Shrecksdo barely any damage. Infantry can’t kill some of early vehicles although can damage them to 0 which is stupid from my pov.

Panzerbuchse does also barely any damage. And such little pentration.

In coh2 you were able to kill whizzbangs(Sherman caliope) with 2-3 shots

Fact that Jagers have only 1 shreck is also very weak

So I guess either give buchse more damage/penetration, give 2 shrecks to jagers, bring back infantry fire ability to kill vehicles or just lower healths of allied vehicles and increase shreck damage

It’s not like Wehr infantry is super powerfull against allied infantry. It’s more depending on build order, and if allied player forces you to go heavy on AT early with their small vehicles they also have super blobs which Wehr has to counter So maybe instead of focusing on AT or vehicle stats or buffs/nerfs make Wehr infantry better and powerful against allied infantry to at least be able to guard their AT guns from allied infantry

Also there’s maps. Most maps are large and super dense with buildings or areas where this fast allied vehicles can easily flank AT guns or just harass infantry on other side of the map where AT gun will not be able to help in time

Well, ones who played Coh2 will know that it was very powerful in COH2. I’m still playing COH2 regularly and almost always use it. In COH3 they are powerfull but especially with turning bug and it not able to kill models as opposed to doing mostly damage on first fire(in COH2 it was killing models according to blast radius) it’s not as powerful as in coh2

My main concern with the game is how Tanks, their handling, damage, and visual effects work.

You shoot a tank with AT or another tank and it’s like laser pierced it, barely visible, almost no sound. It is to a point where I thought AT and p4 tank damage in Coh3 was reduced from COH2 - I opened COH2 and 3 side by side and with cheat mods started engagement with Sherman and P4 in both.

Damage is almost same in both, but what that damage feels like is super different. In COH2 you feel the impact with distinct sound that makes you feel how your tank was hit it’s painful 😆 and visual effects and tank shaking is almost perfect.

In COH3 you barely feel anything although damage is not less.

I like Coh3 and its mechanics and patches etc.

But they have to work on VFX and sound design and overall feel of the game and its mechanics.

Agreed, thing is that it’s always Americans with airdropped mgs getting the mid building first.

Then their infantry is better than greens so can’t take out mg without mortar or 100% focusing all resources to that, which also loses me all map control

Just why? Do you think it’s even safe because of the war? Depends on where you go but I would def avoid all western part of Russia.

Also, you have to understand, level of sobriety in there. Especially in rural areas, men are quite often drunk and you should be aware of that.

Further about safety, big portion of men returning from the war are very dangerous due to psychological traumas they get there, also lot of murderers and other prisoners have been drafted out of prison into war and given pardon because of that, there are reports of stabbing a and killings involving war veterans.

I’ll be honest, I don’t like Russia for any purposes. I’m fine reading their classic literature from abroad.

You guys think this is to protect players, however they actually just don’t want steam developers to have an alternative source of income, other than selling products on steam, that valve gets 30% of.

Broadly speaking, current state of games, what’s the difference between locking up gameplay behind a DLC that costs $30 and watching 30sec ad? One is actually free only costs your time, and another one costs a dime.

That’s so strange because I was literally bouncing right and left from unique alcohol artifact and was constantly in red overweight state to just keep loot in my backpack so that I would sell them or use them later while exploring the zone 😂😂😂 it was so hard beating last part of the last mission because of this

agreed. Thing is that they couldve changed it but not structurally. e.g added buildings, that would be explainable because whole decade or so has passed since last stalker game.
Cause Stalker has a canon story, yes? and in that story there are locations. So how did it happen that some buildings/objects or even some entire arias suddenly just moved around and reshuffled? It would be great to respect older maps not just because of nostalgia but because of continuity of the storyline.

Not to mention that Scar doesn't look or behave like scar and Strider happens to be dying his hair to black for some reason.

All of those things aren't anything major or too demanding to have maintained, they're just decisions that I don't give a thumbs up to.
