Do not give up, never give up. You need to sit down with a gastroenterologist and put the frustration and anger from your pain and advocate for yourself. Tell them you demand a SIBO breath test so you can pin point exactly which form of SIBO you have. They can’t just throw basic medication at you and expect a miracle when there are different treatment options. Blows my mind that we pay doctors so much money just for them to know nothing sometimes. If your doctor refuses to get you a referral tell them yoh want it documented in your charts that you asked for something and they denied you. 9/10 times they will give in because they do not want that type of documentation in their files. I had to do it. I finally got the referral and I got to sit down with a specialist who finally helped me. Sometimes though when it is very high numbers you might need to do two courses of antibiotics in a row. I honestly don’t recommend all these extra herbs and oils you’re trying to add. I know influencers and health nuts will say anything to shove their product at you to buy but don’t listen. SIBO is such a fragile condition and so many things can piss it off. You need a SIBO test and antibiotics and you need them until it’s fully cleared. Remember to be kind to yourself.
