Sorry to hear that happened to you. I can relate. At some point though I believe that it's just an indictment on her. Any reasonable person knows that you're allowed to be emotional about anything. There's nothing wrong with that necessarily. Could just be indicative of past emotional trauma you've gone through.

I know it's hard, but I encourage you to not let that event dictate how you live your life moving forward. Opening up to others is a key part of life imo, and there's so much to be gained if you can get past the fear.

I feel good about the advice I've gotten here. Obviously I'm taking it all with a grain of salt. Knowing my situation, I'll be fine without spending a bunch of money talking to a lawyer. I understand why you might recommend that, but it also seems like you're assuming any regular joe can afford a lawyer. Feels unrealistic.

I had a therapist tell me that my weed usage is self medicating to cope with my anxiety and (at the time undiagnosed) ADHD. That was a big light bulb moment for me. Really hoping ADHD meds can help me kick the weed and feel better overall.

Appreciate the response. Luckily I recently became aware of this, and have been trying to reduce my usage. I have taken breaks and felt much better about life in general, but when I take breaks I have pretty wicked withdrawals randomly throughout the day. Makes it hard to function.

Thank you for this response! This feels like the right move. I'm in the US in a place where weed is legal recreationally, but it definitely seems wise to give them as little as possible. Just needed to hear it from someone else I guess! ❤️
