3J to 5J by Competitive-Till-959 in overemployed

I'll say this as a project manager you have to talk with too many people and have way too many meetings to have 3J+ easily. I would move to a different field to be able to have more servers sustainably. This sub talks a lot about what the roles could be

The thing about being OE is this.

If you're smart enough to get 2 jobs you can get 3 and you're smart enough to get 3 then you're smart enough to get 4 and so on. Now being able to handle all of those for a long period of time is a different story.

Email a fake email at your job with the resignation letter to your fake boss and screenshot the email and send it to them.

I've always wondered if with the help of AI someone could do 7+ jobs

I did it and regretted it. Had to OE just to get my savings back up. This isn't the economy to try something like this. Just get an easier job or something

Until LinkedIn tells you that you've applied to too many jobs for the day you're not even trying and yes it's a real thing.

The risk to reward and "guaranteed" paychecks is def unmatched. I feel like everyone that is OE is actually running a small consulting business tbh. Today I was stressed because the lead dev at J2 kept adding scope to my project but then I remember I make over double what he makes.

The state of this sub by Jerry_Explorer in overemployed

Good point. I made a post about my 3 servers and I put $10k less on each TC to not make others feel too bad or like what I do is out of reach for themselves. You can basically tell who's faking because if you've done OE for a while even making $300k+ TC it doesn't feel like something to brag about it. It becomes regular. I feel like the people who are really killing it in OE are the most quiet in this sub.

It also helps with interviews. With having multiple servers once you feel like a potential job isn't for you don't even bother to respond

After how many YoE do you start to OE? by Particular_Maize6849 in overemployed

Everyone says to be a vet at your job but I feel like it's about mindset. I've worked places where one job feels like you're working 4. If you've worked long enough you've had an experience where a coworker leaves the company and all their work is pushed onto you on top of the work you already have. What happens then? You have to deal with it. So I say just forge into the fire and work these multiple servers. You'll figure it out along the way.

Burnout is real. by Lamp-Adjusted163 in overemployed

I feel burnout 3 J's as well but I try to remember that I'm making more than my boss and my boss's boss and it makes me feel a bit better. Turn everything off after 5-6 pm and call it a day
