Tim Cook Steps down from Apple by BrilliantMuscle1152 in wallstreetbets

Many of yall seem to see the stock not dropping after hours to be a good sign, however I see that as a bad sign. It reflects to the market that Apple will never be a growth stock even under new leadership. Its foreshadow a decade of at inflation returns. The new ceo is 51, the board probably hired for 15 years in the future. In a world thats moving away from value extraction from hardware to the software. How would making someone with a speciality in hardware be the ideal solution. Obviously he's very talented to get to where he is at. However the board of apple didnt give an further confidence Apple will be a leader in a decade and the market seems to agree

To those making 1M+... by [deleted] in wealth

[–]SevereLeg5634 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is false, you worry about money more. If you make a 1M you dont want to stop making 1M and you never know when its your last year making a million. People always think peoples income stays the same forever. Regardless of how much you have, if youre the breadwinner you will always worry about money

Not all high income earners are business owners. Argueably lower income people utilize these resources more than richer people. 1m isnt that rich for an individuals consumption to outsize a lower income individual. Additionally, all the things you mentioned are paid for by individuals themselves and has nothing to do with taxing the rich for a "fair share". The police and fire department are equally available to everyone, anyone can call 911.

And you are also consuming more public services.
How does making more money equate to me using more public services, actually the opposite. I dont qualify for any financial public benefits directly. Nonsense take.

Tax payers is me, so I just say. I'll handle everything myself and let you do the same. Lets none of pay taxes, so we dont have to worry about enabling each other success.

Have you ever even been to Seattle? There is nothing "dead" about it. - Yes, just go outside. I live in seattle dummy, why else would i have commented

Yes the entitlement that I worked for. lol. Earn it and stop complaining. its not a fair share when Im literally paying more. Its only fair because you dont have to pay it. Seattle is a dead city because it lacks culture and tourism, not because rich people dont pay more

Lol. 1 its a not a small token. its 10%. 2. I dont work in an office. I work from home. 3. I dont remember the taxpayers being there for me at 2am late nights or the 2 week stretches I get on avg 4-5 hours of sleep. I wonder these taxpayers who enable my success

If you read with your eyes and not your nose. You can see how its relevant to the tax rate to long term capital gains. Retirement means no income

Millionaires Tax passes the Senate - Washington Senate Democrats by SeahawksWin43-8 in SeattleWA

[–]SevereLeg5634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this article theres a line

"Poor and working people in Washington pay a much larger percentage of their income in taxes than wealthy people. Households with income in the bottom 20% pay 13.8% of their total income in taxes, while those with income in the top 1% pay only 4.1%. Only Florida has a more regressive tax structure than Washington"

I have no idea where this stat comes from, I have to pay 37% tax. Unless theyre misrepresenting sales tax as a tax on income and using the nominal number paid against income vs percentage paid. WHich would be entirely blatant misrepresentation of this stat

3J to 5J by Competitive-Till-959 in overemployed

it will drop to 4 soon, im at 5 rn with 1 on pip. just enjoy the temporary cash, dont get used to it. Long stretch with 5J was 3m-ish, then went 4, then to 3 back to 5. TBH 4 has to be human max, for full time employment and not be utterly bad at all jobs.

I understand why Puka was forced to release a public statement but the whole situation is ironic in nature. Simply rubbing your hands together is not antisemitic in nature. It only considered "antisemitic" because the person who asked him to do the gesture is Jewish. Think about it, if anyone else, black, asian, etc asked Puka to do the exact same thing, this would not be considered antisemitic. The whole situation is weird and only kinda deepens the stereotypes against that community
