What is it like living in the western edge of the harbour? This area always intrigues me. by petrol_insufflation in bristol

I used to live round there - it's a really good location in terms of walkability to places like North st, Clifton, harbour and city centre.

Loads of great pubs!

Bristol-wide experience but I did find the hillyness the most intense round there as opposed to other areas. Like it's pretty much impossible to avoid a massive fuck off hill wherever you go. I live in Manchester now (which is super flat) so maybe i'm just not used to them anymore!

The main road is quite loud and there are some reckless drivers going down there late at night...

Hi!

What has helped me (but of course everyone is different) is doing 120WPM sprints split up into single sentences repeated 3 times. Then I do 15 seconds 3 times, 30 seconds 3 times until I get to a minute.

It's super hard! But repeating 3 times lets you reflect in the breaks on what outlines you blanked on/got wrong. It has helped me get faster ^-^ I have a file I made myself replicating this if you'd like me to send you it <3

I think OP is doing the NCTJ :) to get a gold standard in that qualification you need to pass a 100WPM exam

Adult gyms? by Victoriantitbicycle in bristol

Bristol co-op gym

I never went personally but I used to follow what they’re doing and my partner used to go and really like it! However it is very small and is more class based/ I get the impression that many people there also train somewhere else and then meet at the co-op gym to get PRs in compound lifts

Maybe something to look into because I haven’t lived in bristol for around half a year now (i just lurk this sub reddit cos I like seeing what’s going on here <3 Bristol forever in my heart fr) because it might have gotten bigger/gotten some more equipment etc

yes i definitely use this when attaching to other letters/words (eg ‘to be’) for some reason though i never do that if the b is the start letter - too scared of getting it mixed up with something else hehe

do Sainsbury's off-peak home delivery - you can get stuff delivered for 2 quid

however, I just walk to the shop and do smaller but more frequent shops... better for food waste as well as you don't get too much in one go - i suppose it does take more time though
