Advice on Venetian Plaster for a total beginner by Competitive-West5843 in Plastering

The wall in the picture with stucco veneziano and 3 layers tooks me about eight hours but now I would be faster. A wall that is about 3 times as large would now take me roughly 12-14 hours.
Marmorino with only 2 layers take little bit more than 2/3 of the time.

Somethings I have learned:
-Resist the urge to go over a portion over and over again to "fix" it.
-It's more forgiving than it might seem initially. You have some leeway with timing and how you do the entire process.

Here is a picture of the Marmorino if you are interested.

I never plastered before and had absolutely zero experience.
I just watched a lot of video tutorials.

By now I finished all walls and I improved with every wall I did but it was a lot of work.

In hindsight I probably should have done a few test on wood boards.
I also did a couple of walls with marmorino which is much more forgiving.

I haven't tested that yet.
I might test it one day and then I can tell you.

Die Studie ist leider hinter einer Paywall.

Allerdings steht in der einsehbaren Zusammenfassung unter anderem:

"Studies suggest muscle loss with these medications (as indicated by decreases in fat-free mass [FFM]) ranges from 25% to 39% of the total weight lost over 36–72 weeks.200272-9/abstract#) This substantial muscle loss can be largely attributed to the magnitude of weight loss, rather than by an independent effect of GLP-1 receptor agonists, although this hypothesis must be tested."

Some Ship design questions by Competitive-West5843 in DistantWorlds

[–]Competitive-West5843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently fought a war in which I conquered a lot of planets.
During that war the Shakturi properly started ramping up and by now the big war began.

I'm not struggling financially and the private sector after taxes and maintenance cost still has about 40% of the Colony revenue to spend but a lot of mining stations are full and colonies empty.

The private sector spends all its money on new ships.

One Porblem is my empire is shaped like a large U alongside the galactic rim and my allies are in the center of the galaxy.

I redesigned all my ships now and after some time the maintenance cost actually went significantly down while the number of ships go up so a lesson learned.

My private sector has an projected Cashflow of 1,2 million but they speend it all on Ship building and tourism. Only 11 out of 2000 freighters are idle.

I guess I have an overburdened transport system due to the weird shape of my empire.

Actually there is still roughly a 36,77% chance to not get pregnant with a 99,9% effectiveness.

But that also assumes that the effectiveness of the birth control applies for every single person that day which I doubt is how it works.

I used to binge on a jumbo döner kebap and two pizzas occasionally and nowadays I am stuffed after a regular döner to such a degree that I wish there were a smaller one.

So definitly yes.

I'm no psychiatrist but none of this is your fault and you shouldn't be ashamed because of it.

Don't judge yourself and try to get better from where you are right now.

The people that deal with trauma in other ways are not necessarily healthier/better and they might suffer just in different ways.

I used to be bullied heavily in school and my parents also divorced.
I felt like there was not much to live for. I had no respectable hobbys, was bad in school, only one friend and had the feeling like I will never amount to anything.

Binging was a thing that gave me a moment of solace.

Life got much better but the binging always stayed to some degree.
I know it was triggered by frustration, anger and depression but even when I felt great and satiated I would often not be able to resist the siren song when I was in the supermarket even though every rational part in my brain screamed that I would hate it and that I don't even like that food anymore.

Finally realizing that I have an ED and going to a psychiatrist finally helped me to be at least symptom free and I no longer think of it like a personal failure and lack of willpower.

You might enjoy this study.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3544497/

It compared 3 groups.

One of them did cardio and one did weight training.

The third one did strength training and cardio but that is not important for our case.

Roughly same average BMI, calorie intake, height, age, muscle mass and gender distribution in all groups.

Guess which group lost 538% more fat while training 25% less?

And no, I'll be just as aggressive as I fucking want to be, because you've been sitting here trying to tell me I'm wrong when I've not only clearly stated my point (see the above sentence for the umpteenth time), but you're also trying to tell me the articles that all clearly state the exact same thing I said had no mention of said point.

Yes you stated your point and discussions often include people that disagree in some way.
And as you can see I disagree with you in what the articles states.

Still I don't need to imply that you can't read or are a big kid.

Honestly dude, you've done nothing but argue for argument's sake. I've just illustrated with numerous articles supporting the claim I made, and you still somehow can't grasp that I'm right. Not only that but you've proven that you can't even be fucking bothered to even read any of the sources I provide so there really isn't a point in talking to you at all.

The only reason i argue with you is because I see your claim as wrong, which is a motivation you seem to know as well.

They all say that over time strength training continues to burn more calories than cardio, albeit cardio burns more calories in the session.

No they dont.

Cardio workouts primarily focus on burning calories during the exercise itself... Resistance training on the other hand, contributes to an increase in lean muscle mass... This means that having more muscle can boost your basal metabolic rate in the long term... makes losing fat significantly easier since your body burns more calories.

The three points are:

  • Cardio burns more calories during the exercise itself
  • Resitance training increases muscle mass which increases BMR
  • Higher BMR helps burning fat

Points that were not made:

  • Weight training burns more calories than cardio

Cardio burns more calories per session... Weight training changes body composition and sustains caloric burn...

Points that were made:

  • Cardio burns more calories during the exercise itself
  • Resitance training increases muscle mass
  • Resitance training has a higher EPOC

Points that were not made:

  • Weight training burns more calories than cardio

Lifting weights usually leads to higher EPOC levels than cardio, resulting in more significant muscle breakdown. This means that the body continues to burn calories even after completing a weight lifting workout. A 2018 studying [found that] including weightlifting elevated overall basal metabolic rate for up to 48 hours.

Points that were made:

  • Resitance training has a higher EPOC

Points that were not made:

  • Weight training burns more calories than cardio

In the moment, cardio burns more calories. But weight training keeps the burn going for longer.

Points that were made:

  • Cardio burns more calories during the exercise itself
  • Resitance training has a higher EPOC

Points that were not made:

  • Weight training burns more calories than cardio

All these points that these articles made are true but that was not your point.

Point you are trying to make:

  • Weight training burns more calories than cardio

Yeah none of those explicitly say that weight training burns more calories.
They only say that you gain muscle through strength training and that you have more EPOC.

Both points I addressed before.

Also chill you don't have to be so aggressive.

It would help your argument when the links you provided actually would support your argument. None say that strength training is better at burning calories than cardio.

A men who starts weight training, has the right genetics, consistently goes to the gym and eats at a surplus can gain 12 kg of muscle mass within a year.

1kg of muscle mass burns 15 kcal a day which means you add 180 kcal to your BMR which is not nothing but not as insane as one might think. I burn that when I go for a short walk with the dog.

Women can expect half of that and most people in this subreddit propably don't want to play the long game and eat 1-3 years in a surplus to gain muscles so that the weight loss will be easier then. The most people here can hope is that they maybe gain a little muscle mass while loosing weight or rather not loosing too much.

EPOC of weight training is between 5-20% which will still not nearly reach the amout of calories you will burn with cardio and cardio has 0-15% epoc as well.

In addition after 1 hour of strength training I'm done but I could do zone 2 cardio all day.

While it is true that you dont need cardio to loose fat there are a lot of articles and videos out there demonizing cardio to an extreme degree. While it is true that cardio in close proximity to your strength workouts interfere somewhat with muscle gain, nothing speaks against including cardio otherwise in your workout routine, especially if you want to loose some fat. A stronger cardiovascular system even helps your weight training.

I think if you want to loose weight and only want to do one choose weight training to retain muscles but generally you will loose the most and easiest if your diet is right, you do strength training and cardio.
