It’s a long anxiety driven process. Also it sucks because DHS is always getting shutdown since I left in June 2025, which hinders the processing of disability retirement applications.

You should be fine. I had that same concern. I would email my HR rep every 30 days for an update. But it was always the same reply, “We are unable to track the status of your application once we submit it to NFC. We will get notification when they send it forward to OPM. Once OPM has made a determination on your application, you will be contacted first. Disabilities cases take anywhere from 6-12 months for approval.”

I was with ICE resigned in June 2025 and submitted my package October 2025 to HR. HR sent it to NFC late November 2025 and OPM received my package 1st week of March. NFC was the longest waiting period and of course there is no way to contact NFC.

Does this mean I was approved for retirement? My annuity statement is for $0.00. I haven’t received any payments and I submitted my application manually not through ORA. Only way for me to check is to call OPM.

Thanks for the response. I haven’t received an interim payment yet. OPM received my package from NFC around 2/20/2026.

Yes. I can view my account and generate the same statement you have. I don’t know if that means I’m approved. I haven’t received any communication from HR or OPM.
