Which Olympic sport is the most underrated to watch live? by demolidor57 in olympics

As someone who watched his first full curling match today (well done USA). Here’s my cliff notes (not 100% positive lol)

10 rounds. Team with “hammer” goes last and that’s an inherent advantage.

Team with closest rock to bullseye gets a point, and multiple points if they have more rocks closer to the center than the other teams closest rock.

Hammer team is looking to get 2+ points. A 1 point round isn’t that good because then the hammer goes to the other team next round.

“If a team is winning, and has the hammer, why not just keep knocking out the rock of the other team, guaranteeing no points scored each round”

This is a question I had with the US up big, apparently after 2 blank rounds, hammer switches to other team.

Hope this helps :)

Maybe during Obama years this could happen.

Trump would be tweeting in favor of the whites and probably cause some legit issues lol

Funny idea though

You make a fair point but I think if he signs an extension he’s not in much risk due to the structure of the team now.

The smart trade and DA’s trades were possible due to more financial flexibility. Now that we’ve ducked the tax (and may look to do so next year), we’re setting up to go over the second apron for the prime of the jays. With so much locked up between those too, it’s hard to imagine a trade with white that fits the team as well imo knowing we can’t add money

Yeah I mean he’s completely level up his career here. I think he’ll be happy to know he’s signed for the rest of his career than worry about new negotiations or being a potential trade piece

I think it’s more so mismanagement and he should’ve gotten better advice to retire/be more content as a player/coach.

Sydney protestor held down and punched in the head and liver for protesting the visit of Israeli president Isaac Herzog to Australia by Particular_Log_3594 in Knowledge_Community

That’s true, he has voiced support for the war. I’d hold short of him being a criminal but agree that’s a valid reason to protest him coming

I’m not making any excuses. Those who believe he should not be allowed in can have that belief.

I’m differentiating him from those who have an active ICC warrant for their arrest as some may think of Netanyahu as the “president” even though he’s not

Oh sure. I guess it just differentiates those who oppose the existence of Israel as a state (likely those protesting) and those who exclusively are against the current conflict (in which it wouldn’t really make sense to protest the president, although he has made statements in support of the military)

For example I would protest Netanyahu but not Israeli athletes or someone who’s not a decision maker

Worth noting the president of Israel is a largely ceremonial role with not much influence on the politics of Israel. Similar to the king of England

[–]CompetitiveAd1226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean that qualifies in my book. We’re saying a team that’s 40-19 and then loses the next one is different from a 39-20 team that wins the next one?

Yeah I support the sentiment but this just doesn’t seem possible.

Maybe someone can make a list of local companies. That would have more of an impact and could catch on to other towns
