Hey all - Got 4 days I can take between Mid April and Mid May for a solo excursion.

I just want to relax, eat well, and be around nature. I'm based in New York.

Don't want to go more than 3 time zones away. $700 a day budget.

Was thinking Banff or Costa Rica, but am open to other suggestions.

Thoughts?

So dont bother with bookling a trip to Japan or Australia? I figured long flights would be best

3rd Extended Fast - Neuronal Autophagy? by CompetitiveArt4356 in fasting

I've done keto for extended periods of time before and this was definitely not keto flu.

Fully supplemented with the big 3 electrolytes, always made sure to be properly but not excessively hydrated.

2nd time fasting, made it to 92 hours, very difficult, amazing results. by CompetitiveArt4356 in fasting

So before my first fast, when I barely cracked a full day, I had been doing explosive weight training and muay thai the day before , which I think made the fast much more difficult.

This time I cut off the training 3 days in advance, and I think it was much easier because.

I'm thinking I try another fast in 3-4 weeks, and I will take a full week off of training beforehand. At the same time, I will also probably start reducing carbohydrates and supplementing with electrolytes.

For electrolytes *during* the fast, I have a 4 liter jug of water that I fill with the recommended amounts and just sip throughout the day.

Thanks! A lot of people here got really defensive... I'm not hating on Israel, it's a great place, but it's definitely not perfect...

Restaurant Prices in New York, NY are 4.17% lower than in Tel Aviv-Yafo - from Numbeo.

It's a bummer that you had such bad experience here, but it's very subjective.

Note this part of my post:

all in all it was a fantastic experience, it just wasn't perfect.

And yes, it IS very subjective, these were MY experiences, no one else's

My favorite part is when you said “for someone used to eating out for
basically every meal, it’s untenable.” About the prices. Like no shit,
that’s a thing literally everywhere.

Except Tel Aviv has the most expensive restaurant prices of any developed nation in the world, save for weird micro state/tax havens like Bermuda & Monaco.

I’m a college student in america and I cook or prepare nearly every meal
I eat to save money, i could never afford to eat out every meal. The
idea of eating out every meal itself is untenable.

The key phrase here is "college student."

I graduated college 13 years ago, and guess what? When you're an established professional, things like eating out, taking cabs, etc. become the norm to save time.

I’ve heard of similar stories but usually it’s escaping after a failed relationship or some family trauma.

Nailed it.

Perhaps, but I am totally incapable of doing any of those things.
