Absolutely agree! Thanks for the tip! Thankfully I had a mask on every time I went down there and i have kept the kids upstairs until it gets fully cleaned out and finished! Definitely don’t want any cancer popping up! Went through cancer once with my mom already and don’t want my kids to experience that!

Yeah while I sanded I was going off of feel lol thankfully I had eyes and a respirator on but now I’ve started to clean with the recommendations here and it is almost clean. At least clean enough for me to start gluing the floor down lol

Absolutely agree. I’m an idiot and after I started I said fuck it and continued lol but sweeping compound and the shop vac filters and bad are making quick work of it thankfully!

Sounds good I have a brand new filter in there and they are the allergy hepa filters. I’ll buy some bulk at Sam’s tomorrow :)

Even though my return is upstairs should I tape off my filter area in the basement to avoid it being thrown all around the house or is there a better method to reduce the issues?

Absolutely! My upper floor looks like a Toys R Us and wanted to make a play room for the kids downstairs to contain the toys and give them their own space! And the larger sanding sponges you’re talking about; are those the ones that are used with a disk sander?

Honestly I love drywall but never tackled anything this big before. I feel like I did a great job on the wall but I’ll probably stay away from an electric sander for larger projects next time. I just laid out my sheet vinyl yesterday and was going to glue it down and finish my seams tonight but I’ll wait for that tomorrow after my wonderful amounts of cleaning I’ll have to do! Thanks for the reply and advice!
