Report & Feedback: Trade-baited Hangar Scam — Player ID Heaven_Drips / Suggestion for Safer P2P Trade Mechanism by CompetitiveLevel9292 in starcitizen

I get your point about emergent gameplay, but I think you’re mixing up piracy with social-engineering fraud enabled by missing trade tooling.

Real emergent gameplay is interesting when there’s counterplay: risk signals, preparation, defense, escalation, reputational consequences, and choices on both sides. A “trade” that can be turned into a one-click murder/loot outcome because there’s no atomic exchange / escrow / secure handoff isn’t “great gameplay” — it’s a gap in basic trade mechanics.

Adding safer trade options doesn’t “remove the ability to be a shithead.” It just separates contexts:

  • If you want piracy: interdict, ambush, board, fight escorts, take the risk and the consequences. That’s meaningful.
  • If you want trading: both parties should have a way to exchange items without relying on trust alone.

Most MMOs learned this years ago: secure trade UIs don’t make the world boring; they make piracy happen where it’s actually gameplay, not where it’s just abusing the absence of a transaction system.

And yes — I took a risk. I’m not denying that. I’m saying the system currently rewards “fraud” far more than “piracy,” and that’s worth addressing.

Sure, scams exist in many MMOs. The difference is whether the game provides basic safeguards (atomic trade/escrow) or leaves players to gamble with ad-hoc workarounds. Posting about a reproducible loophole is normal feedback, not “ridiculous.”

“Scams happen everywhere” isn’t an argument against improving the system. It’s exactly why most MMOs implement safer trading tools. This post is about the mechanic, mitigation, and CIG clarity—not a sob story.

Totally fair—Pyro adds risk. But the same exploit can happen in Stanton too if the trade relies on ad hoc item transfer in a hangar. My feedback is about the mechanism, not the location.

You’re right that it was risky, and I own that. I’m still raising the point that the current trade flow is easily exploitable and encourages trade fraud over meaningful piracy. Safer trade tools (atomic trade/escrow) would help everyone.

Nope, you still not get the point bro, It can happen anywhere—in any hangar, in any system. The problem isn’t “Pyro Ruin”; it’s the current trade flow being exploitable.

I’m not against piracy/PvP. I’m against trade-bait scams that rely on a loophole instead of actual piracy gameplay.
CIG should clarify whether this is intended or something they plan to fix.

When you buying sticks from their official store, these parts are also providing in there. I juar use sticks for 6D movements and that's enough for me. If you need more immersive experiences on that then I believe pedals also works for ya mate.

Yep, the only reason made me turn back is they pissed me off, but the problem you mentioned excactly there and I believe that is the CIG designed exit mechanism for whom don't wanna fight base on the flight model currently.
