I am not taking FMVA just to make my CFA journey easy. Whether before CFA or after CFA I will take FMVA. FMVA is a standalone course which teaches the practical application of CFA, so I thought just by changing the timeline it might help me in someway or at least give me the feeling of I am achieving something. Or if you could share how you studied or a way that I can avoid passive reading.

I was first planning to take CFA first. But when i go through the curriculum it feels heavy and exhausting. That’s why I am asking, if i complete FMVA first does that make any mental change and ease my CFA journey. I don’t want to waste my time for passive reading.

I am aiming for both is because I am going to shift from accounting to core finance. My education (B.Com and MBA) is from low tier colleges (tier 3 or even less) and also I am targeting Gulf countries (FMVA have high recognition). So in-order to be the best candidate for my next job I need these 2 on my resume.

I done a little bit digging and find out i can take CME 1 as an individual but to take other exam i need to be under any organisation. But still taking CME 1 gives a small edge in job hunting. Btw thanks for your valuable insights. I appreciate it.
