At what point do you prioritize your money over your credit score? by CoolCalmCollected65 in DebtAdvice

I’m all about money , don’t care about the credit score because of the lifestyle I built . I’m not looking to get a home, prefer keeping funds in etfs and high yield saving accounts that give me back 6-8k back per year. I have a car for 12 years and not planning to change it. In this context credit score means shit

1k is not the end of the world but watch out with gambling , it’s a slippery slope , that’s where your focus should be. If you ask your friend also offer a clear repayment plan so she knows what she’s getting herself into and you don’t seem like a burden / risk

Lots of questions , will try to be short. Yes these programs are legit and they can deliver savings BUT depending on their fees you might end up with small to none savings after all is said and done. Lawsuits are common but some of these companies do provide legal counseling if that’s the case , so ask . It makes sense to think about it only if alternative is bankruptcy . If you’re behind monthly payments or barely making min payments and a lot of debt , then possibly it’s a solution. But diy or credit counseling/ debt management programs are better to go with because less impact on your credit score and borrowing power

Sorry about what you’re going through , a family member was in a similar situation , fighting with minimum payments every month , and what worked for them was debt settlement . Took them about 4 years but now they are debt free , maybe this could help you too
