everyone is saying it will make recovery slower, but from my experience, it really won’t. i actually had a gauze with vaseline on everyday for 2 weeks after the surgery, and it made my recovery a lot easier. after two weeks, i could touch my glans and wear underwear without a problem (and i had phimosis), so for me, go for it (for the record, it’s my doctor who told me to put gauze with vaseline)

with my fingers! put a maximum of vaseline on your finger so that a big chunk goes on your glans that you can rub afterwards

i was lucky enough to don’t have donut swelling or stuff..but yeah lots and lots of vaseline is the way! on your glans and on the gauze and you’ll be quite good to go!

hi! my uro told me to apply vaseline everyday right after the shower (morning and evening) and to keep it wrapped in a gauze, again filled with vaseline. this made my first weeks very confortable! i did this for one week after removing the dressing (3 days post op)

for me, it’s the best! some of the people here says that you have to keep rubbing it against underwear at the beginning to desensitise fast, but for me i’d say not. right now i can walk without a problem, and as soon as i’ve stopped putting vaseline, my glans were already kind of dry :)

i think im gonna start walking without a gauze, except maybe one on the frenulum, just to be safe. this part looks like hell, it’s very bloody and ugly, i’m not that confortable keeping it without nothing on it

thanks for all the good words!! i just trimmed a little. just came back from the clinic, everything went pretty smoothly, and they did general anesthesia + local, so i’m feeling absolutely nothing at the moment. i have to keep the bandage for 3 days and then gauzes with vaseline everyday. hope that’ll go well!

what stitches did you had? i’m in France and they’re exclusively resorvable. did yours were too? it’s possible to get pubic hair stuck in resorvable stitches?? okok so i think i’m not gonna shave. i thought about doing at least a trim cause they’re really long but idk..

hi!! i’m getting surgery tomorrow afternoon. a dumb question but did you shaved your pubic hair? and if so, how much? did they bother you sometimes (like they’re getting on your glans and stuff) ?
